Nick Vlastuin

IMO he gets a very good run on this forum for a first round pick who has never really delivered. None of the talk that we should have taken Grundy instead of him. He is a half back flanker leave him there with the occasional run in the midfield

it's an interesting debate, roar.

the pros - does some very hard and desperate things that make us all go "yep, that's tigger". disposal is neat without being excellent. is good in the air too.

the cons - does he find enough ball? does he have a tank for AFL football?

this latter point has me worried. i'm not just talking about the overall picture, where there are legitimate queries over him running our four quarters as a mid. I'm also seeing a very tired boy after fifteen seconds of frenetic footy in the clinches.

his play by play endurance seems lacking for mine.

Baron have a similar view to above. I like him and hope the club keep him. I remember Dusty when he first started, had tank issues imo. Maybe with new coaches/people at the club they see this too. Not sure but they would have their kpi & requirements for players.

Endurance comes from a lot of kilometres being run & run & run and outside the club trainer requirements. The more they do the more the will benefit. Eg Robert Harvey who still is very good

I don't question his hardness. Just think for such a high pick he lacks a bit of magic or endurance. He may well be captain one day but is in the lower end of best 22 which is not what you want for what we paid. Hope he proves me wrong

Flossy is a big out for us. He's been playing forward, midfield and back for us, in that order, in every game.

He's a very valuable swingman who goes where we need him, when we need him. And, aside from forward, he's been very good. Calms things down wherever he goes.

I reckon he is a significant on-field leader. Agree that he will be missed tonight.

Underrated.

agree. he goes about it the right way, settles things. if the team is a jetty, he's one of the piers.

I like vlos too but it will give Markov a game, even though I think they play two different kinds of footy.

Tonight has been absolutely idiotic. The loss of flossy is massive in terms of footy IQ and composure.

And we bring in Markov.

We have Markov, Menadue, Elton running around brainless, and Lambert and Caddy walking around useless.

Miles had to be the replacement for Flossy. Had to be.

He looked not right from the first minutes today. He still looked like he was concussed.
That's the worse I've seen him play.

What is he supposed to be again? Wasn't he a HBF as a junior? We need guys who can get more ball that's all I know.

Has not looked good in the forward line at all. He looked poor in the forward line in the JLT and continued this into the season. He should be played through the middle and rotated through the backline not the forward line.

Yep confidence is shot. Playing him forward is a joke too.
