Nick Vlastuin

I don't disagree with him playing midfield , however other then Rance and Grimes it's pretty ordinary back there, plus Cotchin, Miles, Martin, aren't going to play back there

Agree CC. Our half backs are putrid. Panic merchants. That's why I laugh everytime people bag Houli. He is sorely missed.

I bet Houli would have like Yazz back there with him too, throw in the grunt and run off Mcintosh and then Vlaustin will probably get more midfield time.

He has gone up a level since being blooded in the midfield a few weeks ago. Alternating in the midfield and link up player in the back half would be a perfect role for him.
It was interesting how Hunt was the link player in the first half today and got 14 touches, Floss then dominated the second half. Major difference was the 97% efficiency. Also more damaging disposals.
He is one reason that I believe the team isn't in such turmoil as some people think. The core group of players is top notch, lets recruit the next level.

Liked the 2 goals as well. Particularly the 2nd in the final quarter, everyone seemed to be struggling with a hot potato, he picked it up such composure and slotted the goal from 50.

excellent game today, just needs to maintain this level from here.

One of very few that has been very good since the day we drafted him. He is reliable and he has leadership qualities.

Simply a rock is Flossy. Rarely plays poorly n has a very strong composed all round game. Flossy just does virtually all aspects footy really well. Skills, composure, decision making, grunt, he's bloody good in all of it.

Best game so far, but this needs to be the benchmark. This really showed why there's a bit of buzz about his potential.

if that game becomes his benchmark, I'll be very very excited. Thought he played an unbelievable game. Was BOG if there was no enigma by the name of Dusty.

So he gets a half or so in the midfield a month or two back, looks pretty impressive and it's never to be seen from again. Right now his career is being ruined along with a fair few others. Nothing more than a C grade hbfer.

yeah it is driving me nuts that they won't play him on the ball.

Did not get one minute today in the guts considering the smashing we had in the second quarter
Was in the middle standing Hodge in the third quarter .

I'm a fan but thought he was only just today

Clearly this post that game was a load of crap.

We’ve always sort of wanted to give him the opportunity to play (in the midfield). With Trent (Cotchin) being out, and probably our midfield being a little bit light at the moment, it was an opportunity to see how he went,” Hardwick said.

“He was pretty good early, but it’s one of those experiments that’s going to take a little bit of time to see the long-term benefits of it.

“It’s a different kettle of fish playing midfield as compared to down back. But I thought he showed some really good signs.

“He’s incredibly clean, tough. I enjoy what he gave us tonight (Friday night).

“He’ll only get better for the run . . .”

to be fair, with so many defenders injured we kinda need Vlastuin up back.

Hopefully when we get Houli/Morris/Yaz back, he will be in the middle

Vlastuin gets exposed for a lack of athleticism. He wasn't so bad in that respect today. And he read the ball ok. But his strength is his kicking and that let him down.

Yeah true.

Need him up back so we don't lose by 80 instead of 70.
