Sums up my year so far. Been on the wrong side of half a dozen such results this season.
Surely Shanahan's play calling in the big games has something to do with it.
Samuel not playing is pretty huge, but they never seem very dynamic on offence in the big games. They looked awful until that last 2 minute drive in this game.
Are injuries a legitimate excuse for them?
They have definitely been unlucky, have struggled to get their best units on both sides of the ball on the park consistently.
And perhaps Purdy is just a little short of the best and won't improve enough to be one of the best.
They're always injured the Niners. Every year they have a host of injuries. The most injury riddled team in the NFL the last 10 years.
But this game was pathetic. No excuses. 3 defensive penalties in one set of plays ? That's garbage.
Gee the Jets looked like they were all over Steelers at 15-6 with the ball near the half way and 2 minutes left in 1st half. Beating them on both sides of the ball. A terrific interception has turned the game, and now another. Soon to be 23-15 down. Gunna be tough for the Jets to turn this back around.
Little Bishop Jr is having a fun game. 2 INTs and nearly a 41 yard TD. Shame he fell 1 yard short. Steelers have to win as the Jest melt easily.
