New clash jumper - reversed strip

Richmond should have resisted the clash jumper when it first came up.
When you think about it the AFL caused the problem in the first place.

If the clash is so egregious they shouldn't have allowed Adelaide to go with that jumper when they first joined the comp. We were already in the competition, it's Adelaide who created a so-called clash. And the AFL ticked off on it.

Even more ridiculously, they ticked it off because there was no clash - until apparently 2-3 seasons ago. Richmond vs Adelaide jumpers therefore hadn't clashed for 25 years, but now do. Go figure.....

There were no clashes in 1991, they were only discovered later. Think of it like climate change.

that away final to Port Adelaide started all of this.

All the science proves it but people see what they want to see?
I am surprised you agree with the AFL on this.

This is from Round 4 this year. If Essendon and Adelaide don't clash, why does the AFL believe Richmond does?

Case closed, no Clash. If anything, our vastly different Yellow means we clash even less than Essendon IMO

Bump on bowden4president's post earlier on this thread, if ours clash, how the *smile* do they answer this??

It is all the broadcasters. When they pay such huge money for the rights they dictate elements of the coverage and contrasting playing kits is one like they do in the US and Europe sport

That's logical but ba k in 91 there was no Clash Jumper Department. This was formed in Vlads reign and has wreaked it's damage ever since. Probably started with one entry level clerk and now comprises a Senior Manager (harassment charges pending) and a team of 6. After a day's offsite workshop They are the ones who deemed that red and yellow clash when worse as a sash.

Two of our biggest loses have been wearing the yellow jumper we have been told to wear.

Adelaide in Adelaide
Saints at Etihad.

Our record this year is 2/2.

I am a bit of a superstitious type.

Both away from home.

We did beat Port and Freo away from home in the gaudy yellow piece though.

On that, not sure how a black and yellow jumper clashes with Freo. It seems that there is a new clash invented and added every year.

In its simplistic way to view this issue i think the following. Their is complete disrespect for traditions. AFL & broadca$ters just want a very dark jumper and a very light jumper. Easier for the brainless staring zombies who watch tv can without thinking, view it.

Im hoping cheersquad put it on the banner just like that painted doorway behind Dusty media conference

I think from next year we should wear the traditional jumper when at home and wear the clash jumper when away - as in wear it in every away game.

I think we can own it as our official alternate strip.

At the moment it feels like we don't want to wear it and just do so because we are forced by the AFL when it suits them.

I say turn the tables. Tell the AFL we will be wearing our 'alternate' jumper every away game regardless. No other club has a mainly yellow jumper so shouldn't 'clash'.

That way we can feel like it's our 2nd jumper and not something forced upon us by AFL.

Soccer clubs embrace this. Melbourne City do it well. They wear the Manchester Blue at home and the old Melbourne Heart strip when away.

I know the alternate jumper doesn't have a history, but why don't we be the trendsetter and have two official jumpers.

I'd also like to change the white shorts to yellow for the alternate strip. Again why do we have to wear white, it's not part of our colours.

Yellow shorts would look rubbish. We should fight every time we have to wear the yellow jumper not embrace it.

Pb, stuff the Afl. Stuff following other codes like soccer or NFL or whoever. Not to pressure the AFL oh ffs. Even a weaker stance of upholding our clubs tradition. Biggest load of crap ive heard.
