New Clash Jumper revealed..

Never said it was.

The fact is, the AFL gave us two options - a mostly white, or mostly yellow jumper, and asked us to come back with designs.
I'm not having a go at you. I just can't understand why that option would even be floated to a team that proudly proclaim that it's colours are yellow and black, and that have never had white as part of their uniform, unless you count the old fashioned numbers on the back or the shorts.

On the website it says that we will most likely play in it against Port, Freo, St.Kilda, Adelaide and Essendon. Obvious design change really, it's better than the wider sash and as long as we win games in it I don't think people will have an issue.

that's just plan weird. the most obvious clash for mine is GWS.

West Coast should be made to go back to their original royal blue, not the almost black dark navy they have now.

agree. their navy blue kit is the worst in the league anyway (actually maybe hawthorn is worse).

Fools in suits should never have allowed so many " new " clubs to manufacture strips that clashed with the " original " club strips in the first place.

this is what annoys me the most. freo, Adelaide and port should never have been allowed to create a guernsey that clashes with any of the existing clubs. port originally added teal to make Collingwood happy, but what about the rest of us?

I would have thought Freo has a good jumper now there is no Green & Red, Adelaide did the perfect marketing move by adopting the S.A. state colours. Can you believe they paid a company $800k to come up with GWS colours and moniker? they should have done the same and adopted the N.S.W. colours and copied my clubs (Western Suburbs) name and jumper design and given me the $800K!!!! Oh and called themselves the Warriors, cause it is Pemulwuy country after all.

Saw the new Saints jumper in yesterdays Sunday Herald Sun and it looks like an Essnedon jumper.

As someone said earlier, it's undoubtably Richmond. That's all that matters.

It's better than the previous one. I would have preferred the stripe on the back then it would have had impact.

I do have a problem with the "excuses" - it clashes with Fremantle's purple and white! I'm wondering what part; the AFL logo! When you examine that a little closer, why aren't we wearing it against Carlton in round 1 as we're the away team. There's very little difference between the purple and white and the navy and white yet we're wearing it against Freo. When the AFL have to justify issues in this manner; the argument is all very thin.

Come on; this is "nanny state" state stuff. Who else do we have to appease?

I have never once actually notice our jumper clashing with another
That would be because it doesn't. Funny how years ago when the teams played each other on suburban mud heaps and the only way you could tell the teams apart sometimes was due to the fact that one wore white shorts and one wore black that no one ever said 'Hey, those teams colours clash. Let's make them wear totally different jumpers to what they usually do.'

Couldnt agree more.

The AFL theory about needing 'light and dark' for the TV coverage makes no sense to me. If the colours are both dark, but the guernseys don't clash, then there is no problem surely?

For example, Freo wearing a white strip against us, which is totally unneccessary. Not too much confusion between yellow and black and purple with white shorts.

case in point: Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon never have to wear clash jumpers when they play each other. same with us and Collingwood and Carlton. all teams have dark home guernseys.

another example is hawthorn... in recent years they have worn a reverse jumper (where the back is primarily brown) when playing away to teams with dark guernseys (eg. Collingwood):

No-one in this world owns colours, but IMO, this is bordering on the line of plagiarism of our yellow & black.

I remember we wore stripes for some heritage round one year and it was hard to tell the difference between our jumper and Hawthorn's that round.

This is their retro jumper. No doubt whatsoever that the 'brown' has gone from a poo colour to very day burgundy bordering on black in recent years.
I'd hope our club is well aware of it and keeping them at arms length re their colour differentiation.
Urrgh I feel dirty just posting it.

Serves u right ToOheys. Could at least have put up a pic with Hodgey in it instead of Lake, pretty sure everyone at Tigerland has a healthy respect for Hodgey regardless of his jumper.
