New Clash Jumper revealed..

I like it. I reckon we'd win more games with the strip because light, bright colours are easier to see for players.

Check the recent premiers Hawks jumper, socks predominantly yellow, Swans - white, Pies significantly white, Geelong, significantly white.

Poor teams recently Blues, Dees, Saints, Dogs.

Dockers improved away form - white strip.

Tiges, Bombers black with splash of bright red or gold - mid table. Eagles ditto.

Giants orange outstripping Suns red amongst the expansion teams.

In the modern game when clean hands and quick decisions are vital maybe colour matters and is the 10% difference a team needs?

Who knows?

What's proven, lamby, across a range of sports, is that teams in white get a better run from the umps than teams in black.

Yep. Aware of that, remember reading something about the NHL where the black uniformed teams were penalised more.

Interestingly there were other studies which showed that when dressed in black teams felt more aggressive (which might reflect the imbalance) or subconciously refs/umps thought teams in black infringed more.

I'd have to say that playing in an all black uniform later in life you did feel a little bit badder and more aggressive.

Interesting.

There's also studies that show yellow is the colour that generates the most excitement of all. Not a big difference, but the effect exists.

That would make our yellow & black associated with exciting & aggressive. Best colours in the AFL.

Credit to the club here. Reckon the jumper is fantastic. As good as we could expect from a clash strip in terms of appearance and functionality.
Looked great.
Having said that almost anything looks good when you win against the odds like that.
But right from when they ran on the ground it just looked right.

It was always the right one. In fact I was very surprised when the members didn't vote for it when we first went down the clash jumper route.

Watched this game on fox the clash jumper was not mentioned once during broadcast , though it may have been spoken of during pre-game. Was it mentioned on radio?

I dont think they had anytime to talk about it. Huddo hogging the ariwaves trying to be the new "Bruce" with every passage of play as seen from the eyes of a Port supporter. :) :)
