Massive pass. It could jeopardize the Maric trade.

Mentioned in today's Age and just then by KB on SEN. Good pick up if there are limits to his role - I get a bit sick of the fitness departments ruling the roost these days. It is a science - to a degree - but it should never get in the way of tactical or impromptu game day decisions. Like leaving a player on when he kicks a goal - let them run red hot for a change!

Don't like the guy and don't rate him.

Craig lives in the world of failed football theories and failed fitness regimes that don't translate to Australian Rules Football.

Not needed at Richmond. Would just muddy the waters down at Richmond and add nothing to our progression OR direction.

NEXT....

His fitness regimes helped deliver Adelaide back to back premierships.

We couldn't do much better to be fair.

He is an elite Sports Science coach. To get him would raise us to the level we need to be. He would weed out the crap Hornsby does.

He is vital.

Massive step in the right direction. If you don't have the ability to have he best equpiment or facilities you have to have the best people running the show so you can get bang for your buck.

Malthouse seems happy enough to let Buttifant ??? run his players on and off the ground whenever he thinks it's time.

Exactly, we don't need any of that crap. We would much rather have fat plodders running around keeping us in our rightful spot down the bottom of the ladder.

I reckon the risk with old professionals (especially head strong ones) is that they get stuck in their ways and won't change. Craig's fitness methods may belong to a past generation. Certainly his teams at Adelaide in the last few years weren't particularly succesful getting onto the park.

The benefit is that their experience can sift the nonsense approaches from the effective ones and shorten the period it takes to make real progress with this group. For instance, no more over-bulking up like Astbury did last preseason. Regardless of his injury - such a silly approach probably would've cost the kid a year of effective development and experience anyway.

We need as many experienced successful people as we can get. Neil Craig has experience and has been successful. I don't suscribe to this theory that he's set in his ways and has fallen behind current methods. If we can recruit players like Miller as a 'mentor' to players than we sure as day can recruit Craig as a 'mentor' to Hardwick. I can't see any downside, and if we can come to a suitable agreement we'd be mad not to give it a go.

Let see if he can get Fatty Farmer running any faster. That will be a good guide to how good he is. ;D

Jeepers Gussy not sure Craig will be hired to work miracles.

Would that see him replace Hornsby?

Doubtful. Would imagine Craig would be in charge of him though. Think he will have a role over-seeing everything just about from coaches to fitness etc.

The Crows were doing the forward press before we even knew what it was.

Craig might not be the best at match day tactics but he would improve us in many other areas we are below average in.

Neil Craig plus 2 new development coaches. Do we think anyone is getting the ass?

Hopefully its Campbo that gets the flick and is replaced by Cousins as midfield coach
