Neil Craig

Greg Denham in today's Australian hinted that Craig "appears certain to accept a football department job with a Melbourne-based club from next season".

So I guess we are still in the hunt if we want him?

Probably Collingwood if (When) Mick leaves.

Absolutely.

Perfect for what we need.

Someone convince me of how and what good Neil Craig is.

If this is true, then Parrott will announce it tonight on The Fruity Show.

I love this move, and I also love that we went after him hard with a long term contract that would allow him to plan long term.

First thing BT has said that I have liked in a long time.

His background is in sports science.

He has worked with Australian cycling team as sports science co-ordinator and also at the South Australian Institute of sport.

In 1997 he started at the Crows as fitness adviser and assistant coach and helped devise their fitness regime which helped them win back to back flags.

He also has about 15 years as an assistant and a Senior coach at AFL level so he is an all-rounder.

Getting a bloke with his high level and lengthy experience in sports science and coaching of both AFL footballers and Olympic athletes can only be good for the club.

Not to mention how professional and well respected he is.

We need some off-field experience, professionalism and expertise, most of our coaches and fitness staff are pretty young.

We could do a lot worse than getting Neil Craig.

We couldn't do much better to be fair.

He is an elite Sports Science coach. To get him would raise us to the level we need to be. He would weed out the crap Hornsby does.

He is vital.
