YEah, possibly.
I'm not sure that throwing money at Craig will get the job done though. Most of the offers will be in a similar ball-park, he will end up selecting the job that he wants.
Why not Brisbane? Crazy Vossy, say no more.
WC? That would be a good place to go except that Worsfold, Sumich and Burns will all be senior to him. Unlikely to appeal.
Melbourne? Maybe but the Connolly-Lyon push would be a bit of a worry. There are enough chiefs there to undermine the new coach already. He is not needed.
Carlton? Despite his two year extension, Ratten will need to make top 4 next year or the Blues will ditch him, contract or no contract. A couple of early losses and the media dogs will attack. Does Craig really want to be on the other end of that? He doesn't strike me as a political animal. However, if he wants to be a senior coach again, this would be the smartest move.
RIchmond? The serial under-achiever. The club that dug a massive hole for itself decades ago and can't get out, no matter what it tries. The club with iffy coaching, iffy recruiting, iffy management, iffy everything.
Only one of these clubs offers the opportunity to become an immortal, a much-loved figure in the hearts and minds of long-deprived ferals. The rest are just jobs.
I wonder which one that would be?
