I stand by this. He is not up to it. Would prefer Miles or Arnott.

I would love to see arnott thrown into the ring. We could use his aggression and muscle to put some fear into the scum next fortnight, a big like what Mitch Robinson does for them. But I think he will be a better overall footballer than Mitch

Foley should have been subbed on much earlier, sometime mid-way in the third quarter.
But still not convinced if having in the 22 improves the team.

After the GC player got concussion he should've been on then, your exactly right.
He hasn't got the run in him any more.
The GC kids burnt us off all night. We were chasing GC butt most of the night

interestingly, stats say he had 9 possies - i would ve guessed 2 or 3.

Cant really blame him he came on pretty late, but agree he is at the crossroads. Should either start next week or go back to reserves.
He was getting plenty of ball - but it was all in and under stuff and firing out good handpasses.

Your sub needs to be able to break the lines and help to open up the game. Based on tonight, Foley has lost that ability or that initial pace to run out of a pack. He may still have a role sitting under the Hampster, but not as the sub.

Will turn the clock back and show why he should have played in that final last year.

Will be in our top 4 best.

Before the mid point of 2013 I remember commenting to my Uncle Bernie that he was right about Axel - he was bulletproof in delivery.

It turned around later in the season. Axel was hacking it. And from then on he seemed to have a policy of only kicking to the opposition.

If we'd dropped the Round Six Foley for the EF I'd personally have burned my membership in a railway yard bin for Carlton hoboes. But he was worn out by then.

That kind of form crisis, particularly in a very mature player, is about injury. He got a niggle that took too much from him.

*But if he was injured he should have been rested.*

By round sixteen they're all injured. Just a few percentage points of injury can damn you.

Foley started as sub last week because he's being eased back into the side. He did not look free in his movement. Maybe he was underdone. Maybe he is hampered. It won't take much time to tell.

Has Nathan ever come back? He looks like he's never recaptured his line breaking speed, or perhaps he wasn't quite as good pre injury as we remember.

I'd love to see him start the game and get a 4 quarter opportunity to impact. Football is all about your last game, give Nathan a chance at redemption

It might be just me but I don't think he's that well suited to being a sub. Needs to work his way into the game and get confidence from some repeat possessions. That's less likely to happen when you only get 30mins of game time. Would prefer Petterd as the sub tonight. I like Axel - would love to see hime return to something of his best.

Petterd or Newman as sub. I thought Axel's pace may have helped late in the game, but maybe we need him in there early and can switch him out later.

Bloke was finished after Wallace continually played him with a dodgy ankle. He should have been cut off the list 2 years ago. Problem is "HE IS SUCH A NICE GUY" so we will continue to dish out contracts and be rewarded with mediocre performances.

Well done mate 11 disposals in a quarter, in and under when nobldy else could get near it - see no. 6 when the chips were down.
Lot of the work goes unnoticed unfortunately. Will improve his run and spread when given more game time.

Same as last week...... 20 possessions in 2 qtrs of footy...
Would have thought we couldn't have asked for more from Axel

He got the ball ok, as you would expect from your sub. But his use isn't clean and usually passes a hot potato to someone under pressure.

Needs time in VFL for mine.

Your being generous, his been gone since Wallace's last year.
He has no presence on the ground.
Time to replace him for some one else

True the numbers stack up but I'd have to watch the 4th again to see if his 10 disposals helped or not
It want his fault we threw away a 6 goal lead

Being a sub does him no favours either...not an impact/burst player at all, just a grinder these days.
Still cant kick.
Tony Shaw mongrels

Looked slow and possessions were largely ineffectual - quick kicks and hurried handballs from packs. The major issue is that he has lost that spark and pace he had at his peak. Can he get it back? Hope so as the other option means he won't be in our best 22.
