Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

getting back to his best, not there yet imo. just needs to round off his game with the final delivery, and also back himself with his runs and take that extra step or two to penetrate the 50 and goal.

agree with everyone about Foley and the development of a potential ELITE midfield but i still fritter about our future.

Our two main in and under terriers are the ol boys Foley and Tuck. I know Cotchin is in there too but take out Foley and Tuck and we lose alot of grunt in tight.

This next draft id love to get a tough as teak young ball winner with our first pick. hopefully Arnot will develop into an in and under ball winner and develop along with our first pick just to take the edge off my nerves :p

Good point.

Arnot has improved alot in the VFL and has kicked goals in the last couple games as well as getting over 20 touches.

Never was elite by foot. But his in and under, speed, ability to read the play, run and bounce, seek the best option is getting back to his best.

I think Conca will add the missing grunt when Tuck and Foley move on.
But if Tuck's anything like his old man he may play another 4 or 5 years.

Ellis is the other one who is going to become an inside midfielder. It's one of the reasons we want Dea in the team, so we can get Ellis to develop in the guts.

I would have have Foley playing on Mitchell today. If Foley can hold his own it would be a massive win for us.

Reckon Foley will be a good chance to hold his own against Mitchell.

He's been back for a while now.
Yeah he's going well. another bloke who isn't getting a mention around here is Tuck. he's been taking done ripper marks. Had a horrible end game turnover recently but otherwise, tearing it up.

Cotchin, Delidio, Martin, Tuck, are allowing Axel to fly beneath the radar......and his best is still to come

He has got to be loving roving to The Mullet!

A star player and there or there abouts with Cotch yet still underrated by some. As an earlier comment he must love playing with Ivan proving so much drive. He is going to get even better

Just re-watched the Hawks game, Foley's 3rd quarter and first minutes of the last quarter were unbelievable. Tackling, clearances, running bounces, contested marks, he did it all. And he has a chance to do this every week given the attention Cotchin and Deledio get. Just quietly building a sensational year.

I know we try and ignore what Wallace has to say but he commented on the weekend that when he was coaching there wasn't a week when Foley didn't get tagged and that now he isn't tagged at all. That's the huge advantage of having 3 gun midfielders ahead of him.

Been very good this year.

Good point sin they can't tag them all. The other great thing about Foley that he can be a very good inside mid and very good outside mid depending on what is needed. I hope to read soon that he has signed on again as he is a key for us going forward.
