Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

Great Game by Nathan

25 possies at 76% efficency, 7 clearances and 10 tackles.

Even Hardwick praised him, that's how good his game was!

Is he back?? Only 27 and had some nasty injuries, (been said many times) if he has a run with preseason and next year, Geez thats an extra recruit isn't it....and a pretty handy one when he can play unrestricted! Great game Axel!

We need to stop dicking around with him. None of this sub BS, full matches don't drop him when we lose. Seriously adds something as effectively our 5-6th mid.

As was said earlier I think he's lost the burst pace he used to have, sadly, but he's smart enough and tough enough to make a valuable contribution week in week out for a few years yet.

Foley, along with Edwards, Thomas and Lids, handled the conditions best on Friday IMO. They were all smart about it. Foley's hands are as good as ever. Great to see him getting some touch back. Plenty of football left in him.

Its the achilles. He hasn't lost straight line pace but he's lost explosiveness and acceleration from the contest.

Lids similarly has struggled in that area this year with only a sore achilles rather than a snapped one.

He is a marvel and if anyone can work hard to compensate or build up his acceleration over time its Nathan. Gun tiger who has been poorly treated at times.

150 coming up. Certainly deserves life membership. It's a shame he never won the B&F he probably deserved for his work in 07/08.

Another one who has been savaged by injury. It's a bloody shame he has lost that breakaway pace. Still remember the Friday night game against the Pies when he announced himself by darting in out of the middle and bouncing his way to goal.

Seems to have worked into the season well got his zip back a good preseason should serve him well still need to keep some experience & hard track workers in the side.

x 3.

Remember when Axle was dominating the VFL with high possession games, really earning his promotion unlike some players these days who believe it is their rite of passage to get games without earning them.

Real shame his career has been cruelled by injuries.

Another 50-75 injury free games would be a fantastic result for him.

Well Done axel injuries have not been kind at all we are nixed see Richo coughlan browny and axel anyone who was any good seemed to cop it we must have run over a stack of black cats

Is he our only Rep player in the squad ? Excluding the mickey mouse international series that is.
