Sort of begs the question . Is Toby a chance for AA ruck this year?

I wouldnt think there would be any doubt he'd be in contention. I reckon it'd be him and Grundy at the halfway mark.

5 ruckmen in the top 30 and Grundy isn't one of em.

Plenty of competition for AA ruckman.

Id have grundy over witts, smith and even Ryder.

I think he's the second best ruckman in the comp.

How are those scores calculated? (Correction: Dusty is equal second.)

They're pretty good. They factor in when a player does something positive and subtract points when they do something negative.

Champion Data put them together and there are always some subjective criteria in relation to the situation in the game and other factors but it goes way past simple kicks and handballs.

Not the be all and end all but a good qualitative guide.

They also have different categories so although Rancey is 24 he is by the length of the Flemington straight the best key defender.

Limitations in that their overall ratings are based on your last 40 games over the last 2 years, with the earliest 10 being progressively downgraded in importance so if you are injured or an inexperienced player with few games player you will have a lower rating.

It actuallly finds that player who is contributing positively but overlooked by pundits and fans (Witts?). Players like Miles and Edwards have consistently rated highly in these ratings (mostly inside top 60 of AFL) but they are now dropping off due to missing games.

PS Nank has gone from about 600 in the AFL to around 300 in 9 games with us. Should be knocking on the door of top 50 by year's end if he keeps up the standard.

Has Dimma's Happy Thursday presser already deflated Nank's chances against Goldstein??

Still shaking my head as to how we managed to snag him for such a low pick.

We thought he'd be another dud we could get on the cheap. ;D
Once again, we were wrong :fing32

Getting Nank and trading out the injury stricken Lids for a first rounder this year were two very good moves.

On the Marngrook footy show last night, they referred to Nank as 'an indigenous lad from down tassie'

now thats not the kind of thing Marngrook would get wrong.

Would help explain why he's so good? :hihi

Reckon Goldstein while still a pretty good player is justing starting to slow down a bit - not the dominant player he once was.

Nank should give a good account of himself tomorrow

And...... has he ever played at Etihad before?

Might end up being the best valued recruit we've ever picked up. Held his own and more. Unbelievable player.
