Listening to SEN and drain pipe says he is OK with what Selwood did! And he says its OK what Greene did? That you have always been allowed to raise the elbow and if they want to outlaw it the AFL need to change the rules. WTF??

OK with turning side on and bumping a bloke in the head who is exposed going for the ball? What a moron.

And why should you be able to elbow a bloke in the neck/head when he comes to tackle you?

Diverfield got what he deserved after Vlaustin was forearmed in head in GF

Yet just months ago he said this incident was "worse the more you see it".

The rules are already in place. The problem is that with precedent allowed to be introduced, one bad decision begets a hundred other bad ones.

They're either protecting the head or they're not. Stop jerking us off.

Don't bother MD. It will go to the Penski file.

BTW, I told you that pimple Christian would charge the Selwood incident as careless. There was nothing surer.

He needs to be removed asap.

How stupid does he look with not charging Fritsch, and now charging Green (which I think was the lesser offence).
It isn't Christian. The decision is made by the Hocking replacement, Andrew Dillon.

Hope Cotch appeals. If for no other reason his accidental contact is being characterised in the same terms as those of Selwood, who on the video evidence in fact took aim at the head of an opponent from 5 meters.

Surprised they didn't fine Cotchin for Selwoods act

Andrew Brayshaw suspended for contact to the face.
I have no issue with that but just another reminder there's one rule for Joel Selwood & one for others.

And Mason Redman given a week for the old "dangerous tackle", The Bont got straight up, no probs.

Bontempellie didnt get straight. he got up once the whistle was blown. terrible decision.
Selwood's really must go down as one of the worst in recent times.

Greene's I am in 2 minds about. he raised his elbow and got Dangerfield high. harsh, but consistent with how they treated Dangerfields hit on Vlastuin. oh wait....

Rolled the Bont n dumped him head first, that's what the dangerous tackle call is supposed to be.
*smile* me to tears though, that Duckwood lining up a player who's got the head over the pill , puts the hip through gets a fine while Redman gets a week. Both actions equally dangerous to the head, both should be a week.
So many judgments by the MRO are simply smeared with beige depending on who the perpetrator is.

If you remove the football scenario from Selwoods actions - lining someone up when they are not looking is called a coward punch. People should actually be using that term to describe the action as that’s what it was.

Then we have Redman being suspended for this. Footy is broke.

As the commentator says - I'm not sure what Redman is supposed to do there.

Dangerous tackle - BS. The whole reason players are pulled sideways in tackles is because the umpires pay in the back when the player tackled flings themselves forward, so the tacklers have to shift them sideways to avoid this.

A suspension? More extreme BS.

The worst thing is I haven’t heard any media person up in arms over the Selwood bump? Mince basically said he and the boys on crunch time knew it would be a fine for Selwood. Drain pipe saw nothing wrong with it. It’s a *smile* joke. If Taylor had bumped Selwood it would have been a different story.

Is there more of a protected species in the AFL than Joel Selwood?? Sniper of the highest order.

As you say, Brayshaw suspended for the rake of the eyes, but when Selwood did it earlier in the year its a fine. Selwood lines Taylor up, didn't even attempt to play the ball but the play the man, its a fine, Marlion Pickett goes to spoil a ball and its a suspension. There are numerous other "bumps" this year penalised with a suspension, but when it comes to Joel, he seems to get the good guy discount when he's the furthest thing from a good guy on the field of play.
