Morabito question

Based purely on the clips, I think I'd do the same. Trengrove also looks mighty impressive.

I know I've asked this before but any chance the Dees will spring a surprise and take a combination of Trengrove/Morrabito/Martin and Scully falls to 3 or is he a lock?

Scully to the Dee's - no question.

Will be a laugh if they pick Scully with pick 2 - the whole audience at the draft will gasp at horror, but their surprise will diminish after he is slotted at 2.

You mentioned Goodes as a bit of a comparison but Adam has always had a great kick on him, can you say the same for AM?
Also does Morabito have the ability to hold down a KP do you think Scoop? If he can then he could be a great get as a modern utility.
First impressions to me though he moves like S. Burgoyne without the polish.
So not sure I'd take him at three based on the few clips I saw.
Other teams can take punt on X-Factors, we need footballers and I'm not sure he's one first and foremost.

All fair points ToO. I have seen Morabito live and he has drilled passes, the thing with his kicking is that he often tries to drill balls low and hard. With kicking like that, there is no room for error, if they are on target they are superb but if you miss by a foot you have no chance. When he chips into space and just does the easy ball, he is top notch. In the long run he could pinch hit at CHF or CHB no problems at all. In a really good side, in say five years he would be a super dangerous third tall. Next year he could role off half back no problems, half back for two years would be a grounding spot, with small spurts on the ball. Everyone will like the way Morabito plays.

As much as I like Morabito I would still take Trengove if he is on the board. Plays like Brad Sewell, Joel Selwood, Scott Burns. Contact footballer with class.

Yeah Trengrove looks top shelf. What do you think about Martin v Morabito?

Dees have already publicly committed to Scully.

I would take Morabito. He is a natural born match winner.

Martin is a Joel Corey type, Morabito is Steve Johnson.....bigger risk but with bigger upside. With our list we need to take a few risks if we are going to make the grade. If Gold Coast and West Sydney were not coming in then maybe you could argue the safe bet was the way to go, however we more than any other club need match winners on board now.

We, more than any other club, can't afford to take risks with top 5 picks. I'd take Corey over Johnson too FWIW.

LOL at natural born matchwinner. :hihi

Show me a game he has single handily won the game for his team?

WOW some overrated opinions on here about Morabito. Good prospect, but some of this stuff is funny.

The rest of what you say is Greg Miller logic. So I would pass.

On the big stage this year, Morabito went missing and Martin dominated games. Martin is the better footballer and has been all year...In my opinion of course. ;)

That is garbage Bob, when did Morabito go missing and when did Martin when games?

Unless my eyes deceived me, he went missing in the Championships. Some decent games but hardly a matchwinner some are making him out to be.

Martin dominated three games for Vic Country. Proof in the pudding being names in the center for the All Australian team. He absolutely shone this carnival on the big stage.

I don't believe it to be garbage.

Got a question for the long time junior watchers regarding Morabito.
He plays some mid and some forward and comes in at 190cm and 90 kg with bulk to add as he matures.
Freo's big purple Pavlova plays mid and forward and comes in at 191cm and after about ten years in the system about 100kg.
Does anyone recall what the Pav was like as a junior and how do they think Morabito compares to Pav's junior days?

Good post and why I was very interested to know if Morabito might be able to play as a mobile KPP down the track.
If it's expected he might then his value goes up exponentially.

Gee on those comparisions i'd take the solid/performs week in and out Corey ahead of the flashy, sometimes match winner Johnson every time. We carnt aford to get this one wrong so the safe bet is Martin. Ticks all the boxes and is an elite kick!!

Read that back again, sounds silly. With the the GC/WS coming in we NEED to take the safe bet, not the other way around. We can't afford another first-round flop.
