I reckon we are better than Melbourne, but they are not far behind us and clearly the second best team. However I don't think they make the GF, as West Coast will come to play in their home preliminary.

You think WC weren’t serious when Melb beat them a few weeks back.

Our last few weeks r 20 - 23 we were less dominant but then our QF we went BANG.
Really hope it happens over the next 14 days.

If they do make the gf , I’m hoping the tougher run , particularly going over West and flying back in the last week will take its toll ,

But I have a bigger fear than playing Melbourne,

And that is not making the gf at all and they do make it , next week will not be a walk in the park .

Feel the same Kiwi
Worst case scenario - a Melb v Collingwood GF

few weeks back WC were a different line up. Think they will go ok. Melbourne had the run last night, Hawks missed their opps and paid for it.

Don’t be concerned about us losing the PF.

You can forget about that.

We will win the PF or I’ll row over to hand you a slab

Geez are half of you listening to the media drivel? Take a deep breath. Go through our lineup and then think of the system we play and how reliable we’ve been in recent times. We will be fine.

If we don't make the GF and they do I would be happy for Melbourne to win the flag KT. Their supporters have been through a lot as well

I can’t get past the jeering of Nathan Brown when he broke his leg and the rejoicing and singing our song when they went down in the Jordy McMahon game. Pack of imbeciles. May their misery last forever.

Look at the alternative

The scum, the plastic "AFL Inc" team from Sydney or the boo-ers from the West.

Nah, I was happy for the bulldog supporters I know and I would be happy for the demon fans as well. As long as they don't beat us of course

yeah I get that ,

But watching a Melb v Collingwood GF would be a hard pill to swallow after the season we have had .

We deserve to be there

And it would be a *smile* game.
We are in the harder side of the draw but we play consistant now and will at some stage this year dominate from start to finish.

Happy to play Melb in the GF as long as they think there is a priority pick on the line.

I don't really get the talk two weeks in a row about Melbourne's great pressure game. The stats don't back it up. They had the lowest pressure acts stats last week of the Rich/Haw and Melb/Geel matches. Last night they had 584 pressure acts and 66 tackles compared to Hawks 642 and 67. To put it in perspective last week''s Richmond/Hawks game was Richmond 794 pressure acts 75 tackles to Hawks 752 and 81. 210 MORE pressure acts than Melbourne AND we shut shop in the last quarter. I have no issues with us playing the Demons in a GF. When we put our pressure game on no-one can match it. Melbourne might be able to do it in short stints and maybe that's why their getting accolades for their pressure game but they'll just go the way of every other team that plays us, compete for a while but succumb to the pressure in the end. One thing Melbourne don't look great at is handling extra pressure applied to them. A lot of mistakes. No one is going to beat us playing our game. That's why I am more concerned playing a West Coast or GWS, different game style, better overall skilled teams.

West Coast had no Kennedy that game and Darling was knocked out in first 10 minutes. That's 80 goals kicked this year from those 2. You take them out and West Coast are impotent yet they were just a goal down at 3/4 time. Can't see Melbourne beating West Coast. If they do they definitely deserve to be in the GF as they've done it the hard way.

I honestly think West Coast is going to slaughter the Dees next week!
As I’ve said previously let’s not get hysterical over Melbourne’s 2 training runs against painfully slow and undisciplined opposition.
Seriously if Gunston had not hit the post from 10 metres out, the famous eggbourne choke would’ve been on.

Thanks

Be a miracle if they beat wet toast.
If we make it and somehow they do we will slaughter them.

They defeated an injured hawthorn, who could have knocked them off if they kicked straighter for goal.
That’s the same team we knocked off when they were at full strength by 5 goals.

I’m more worried about our next game.

Exactly!

Melb are SO over hyped and over rated it is embarrassing.

A few weeks back they were a chance to not even make the 8! They had ONE good win against an injury depleted WC and then a couple of solid wins against teams that didn't even turn up.....and all of a sudden they are genuine contenders???

Give me a break! WC will win easily next week.
