The other thing that sh!ts me, Roos getting all the accolades and him lapping them all up.

Yep. Makes you wonder how Goodwin feels about the whole situation.

No point getting bothered by the demons praise. We got it last year, their turn this year. Makes a good story and sells papers.

Can sympathize with the media that our domination for over a year now makes for mundane reading.

Let the demons have it I say.

184. Hawthorn ended up with 187. We were 196 in the first 1/4

Where do you get this information from? Would be interesting to compare across all finals games.

Thanks mate. If my memory is correct that's a bit off from our finals last year; I think we were 200+ every game.

Interesting that we won so comfortably. That said the heat went right out of the game in the last quarter.

That's exactly why. Heat off in the last quarter. We took our foot off the peddle, no reason to push too hard and risk injury once the win was secured. I heard at one stage that Tigers had forced Hawks into 14 turnovers of which we converted 7 goals 7 behinds, so it's not just the pressure act itself but how you punish the opposition with the resultant turnover. We are supreme at doing that.

The Dees were made to look good by a woefully inept, slow and lazy Geelong. The skills in that game were embarrassing. Neither team looked like they should even be in the finals.
Ditto GWS. The Swans were pathetic and never even gave a yelp.

Hawks had a decent crack but were shown to be a class below the Tigers.
Collingwood and West Coast played a cracking, high skill, high intensity game and both teams deserve to be in the finals. I still think they won't beat us though.

agree on all counts agin'

It was in the paper on Friday. I took a pic of it to share with someone so still had it. The only other one I have is from eagles/Pies. Eagles were 186 (195 in the 4th) Pies 192 ( 211 in the 2nd and 199 in the 3rd )

Let em get ahead of themselves.

Its going to be a Deez and Maggots wank fest all week.

I'll be cheering on the Hawx and Gee Whizz to do the business and knock them back down to earth.

Pretty much spot on agin. I watched a fair bit of the other games n the Colonwood, Wet Coke was a ripper. Smelbourne were good for one qtr when they jumped the Moggies who must've been lost n confused away from Krapdinia Park, after that both teams were rubbish. Sydaknee look to be in for a world of pain in future years. Been a few times they simply haven't been able to kick a score n getting belted regularly on the SCG doesn't augur well for them.

I don't know, Robbo on 360 said the Hawks 1st quarter was 217 and we soaked it up.

Felt that way at the game. The hawks threw everything at us in the first quarter and we absorbed it well.

Hawks will bounce back and win by 23 points.
Shhhh.....I'm hoping to get some good odds on them!

Spirit and intensity will only get you so far.....and only against rubbish teams. Hawthorn should provide much stiffer opposition this week.

im hoping the that was the dees grand final , even though the cats were *smile* poor

im glad scott is their coach, he fell into the premiership in 2011, that was thompsons team

scotts record in finals is 2011 - 3 wins 0 losses
2012- 2018 0 wins 9 losses

keep him there I say

Didn't the hawks win by 11 goals last time they played? When was the last time Hawks were embarrassed like that two games in a row? I was at the game on Friday, little pressure and Geelong were terrible. Melbourne weren't that good. I'm backing the hawks this week. ~$2.80 are crazy odds!

Far be it from me to defend Chris Scott, but that is just nonsense.
2011: 3-0
Since then: 3-9

He is 6-9 in total.

They beat Sydney last year the week after we slapped them.
And they beat hawthorn when Smith the goose missed from 30 metres out.

I think Hawthorn we're lucky to make top 4. Geelong were lucky to make top 8.

So where does that leave us? Melbourne played a team who really weren't finals standard, but Melbourne could only play the opposition presented to them and I thought they were quite impressive. Hawthorn were good but clearly a level below the mighty Tigers.

So, I picked Melbourne to win against Hawthorn. Not an easy game to pick I reckon but Melbourne did look good. I think they will be a threat in a year or two.

The West Coast Collingwood game was a cracker. I was surprised how well West Coast came back to win in the last quarter. They are both good sides and a genuine threat. To get back on topic though, I can't see Melbourne threatening either West Coast or Collingwood at this stage, or us for that matter. They're a little way from really being competitive.

To give some context, my opinion last year was that I thought Adelaide were the form side but considering the other 3 teams before Preliminary Final week I thought the only side with the game to challenge them was Richmond. Mind you, I was more worried about beating Gee Whiz at the time.

Out of the bottom four finals opponents, GWS would have beaten them all.
Sydney were hopeless, Geelong a smidgeon better, and Melbourne were OK.

Sydney were the surprise for me. Not even a whimper in that thrashing.

If Hawthorn turn up against Paul Roos' Demons they will be on their way to Perth. I can't see either team getting out of Perth alive.
