Matthew Clarke

There's a 26 y.o 185cm midfielder free agent getting around averaging this year:

26 possessions
6 tackles
6 clearances

And over touches 40 in the weeks prior in the VFL that would be perfect for us.

No draft picks, fills a massive need, 3-4 years $400-500K a year, lure of success at a great club..

Get it done Matt and Blair.

A lot of talk about mids but we have the worst young talls in the comp , with 6 picks it would be ideal if we could draft 3 talls and 3 mids..
I know it won't work out that way probably but one can hope..
I may missing someone but the last time we used a first round pick on a tall was 2008 on TV
Yep our tall stocks are sheizenhausen, completely.

The only decent Tall junior we have is already a lock in our side.

There is nothing else.

Righto.

What's our best off-season result? It's one that improves us immediately for another tilt while we have Dusty, while not sacrificing the future, right? Pretty ambitious.

Luke Dunstan as a FA is a great call, Leysy. A few waking up to his improved form, though. Could be a bidding war.

Two picks in each of the first three rounds. Accumulated to spend, most likely.

Narkle for a third is good business and almost a fait accompli, supposedly.

Ed Richards is out of contract and Mr B reckons he's moving. Yes, please. Second rounder. Straight onto Houli's flank or even the wing.

Cerra. One first, no more.

So that would leave us with a pick in each of the first three rounds plus Narkle, who turns 24 in December, Cerra and Richards, both 22. Future not sacrificed. And if we get Dunstan he'll be 26, where we have a hole. Two can seriously kick, the other two can absolutely get it.

We should probably do something like that.

Agree re Narkle for a third. Needs to work on his tank, but for that price you take it as he can play.

Dunstan I'm less convinced due to his lack of pace, but can't argue he's had a hot run of form and fills both a need and age bracket on our list.

Richards and Cerra I'm less interested in. Would rather keep the two firsts and use the two seconds to get another first. The only way I'd want Cerra is if Bolton left and nominated Freo, which we should then be trying to get Freo's first as well.

RCD we already have who needs to work on his tank after four preseasons???

Now we are supposedly after Narkle who after five preseasons needs to work on his tank????????????????????????????????????????????

After five preseasons if your tank is not there it is never going to be there.

WE can't afford to carry too many endurance flawed midfielders

Just doubt Salary Cap could handle that. Especially if keep both Shai and CCJ.

Avoid. Saw him on the gas a few weeks ago at Caulfield when Kah rode 5 winners.

He was exactly like you: sloshed and couldn’t back a winner to save himself.

For once, have to credit Mr Burnside. (At the time, he had Greg’s number on speed dial.) We actually went twice if I recall correctly. We got to know the butlers on a first name basis !! Hah hah hah…
Ahh yes Emanuel and Chi Chi … good times

Dunstan or Crouch? I would go Crouch

Salary dump Caddy, trade CJ (get another first rounder).
Yeah if we could wrangle a first for CJ I'd do it, Reckon Sampson will be better, CJ too slow off the mark for a full forward and not a first ruckman. A better version of Adam Pattison.
