Richmond is looking positively stable at this stage.

LOL at Lyon at Saints B&F last year bemoaning lack of loyalty.

Absolutely. Stuff Neil Craig, get this bloke.
Neil Craig is wanted for a completely different job than what Lloyd does i.e senior assistant and High performance .

Craig Cameron , Francis Jackson and Blair Hartley do our list management and recruiting .

Official statement in from St.Kilda - Harvey (Robert) to assume interim coach position. Wow, 4 clubs needing coaches; Dogs, Dees, Saints and Crows.

and then the schoolgirl scandal and Zac Dumbson & co. mucking up in NZ hit. At that point he realised he was coaching a bunch of nuffers.
Who wouldn't want to get out of that. Either the players had to leave or he did.

I'd say R Lyon's walked into a time bomb. More pressure to get Freo in finals, possibly GF by now, than semi-rebuild at Saints.

There have been many strange things said on this board over the years. That is without doubt the strangest & stupidest.

On this move, gripping listening on 3aw tonight. Something different coming up every minute.

This has caught EVERYONE offside. No-one had Harvey getting sacked. & even less had Lyon taking over at Freo.

Have to question Freo as well. Harvey has done very very well for that club from where they were when he took over & they dump him just because someone better has come on the market.

Richmond of the 80's anyone?

Edit: Brad Lloyd has walked out as well apparently. Gun List Mgr/Recruiter. Ah bad old Freo. Just when they start turning things around they shoot themselves in the foot.

Think you are too hard leysy. If you something that is good, but something even better comes along then you should take it. Reckon it is one of the greatest coups ever. Well done Dockers.

I'm tipping Grant Thomas to take over at the Saints.

The decision will cost them a years worth of salary for Harvey but it could well be worth it.

Plenty of pressure at Freo, but they a good group of young players - too much like hard work for Lyon to rebuild at the Saints I reckon.

I'm sure once the dust settles, there will be some interesting stories to hear or read about.

Never smoke without fire!

I get the 1-hour international highlights package every week and they always show exceprts from the coaches' conferences. I'm not saying Harvey wasn't a good coach, but he never said anything I couldn't have said at the time, knowing how the games panned out. Never any insight, and basically sounded like he had no idea.

I can sense a personal Knighter-type blast to come out from Harvey.

Rekon you're right about the saints having to rebuild and who can they thank for their aging list, their recycled players and their horrible style of play - well yes Rossie is leaving them in disarray which he and only he has created. Way to go Rossie - jump off the sinking ship!!

How do you stack the backline at Patterson stadium???
There goes Polo's AFL career!!!

He never had his heart in the job!
He had the Zero care factor going for 5 years!

For a guy who didn't have his 'heart' in it he did pretty well to get his side within a kick of winning a flag.
I'll take brains over heart any day.
My biggest criticism of Lyon would be the brand of football he plays. Not the most attractive going around but it's been pretty effective with a patchwork quilt of a football side.
