Lynch !!

Love him to play even if it takes a monster defenders off Jack. Plonk him in the pocket, no ruck work and increase minutes (over the first 3-4 weeks) may be the approach.

Then there is the Ben Cousins scenario that playes on my mind - no match fitness and ping there goes the hammy.

I think we are a lot more mature with our selection policy compared to 10 years ago. Only 5 and a bit days before we find our, unless Dimma comes out early next week and declares him a 100% starter.

Do the VFL lads have a practice match this weekend? I’d sneak 30min of game time in him we do.

I'm going to read between the lines from Peter Burge's injury update video from the RFC website and say Lynch will play Round 1.

Dimma has also said we didn't recruit him to play VFL.

Imagine the roar if he plays, we get the 1st clearance & he takes a big pack mark...

LYNCH: I’LL BE PLAYING NEXT WEEK
Richmond forward Tom Lynch is confident of playing next week but the question remains where that might be. But skipper Trent Cotchin is backing in his new star recruit.

This. What's the hurry? Surely we can beat the blues without him. Give him a run in the ressies just for a bit of feel, then bring him back next week.

Can’t possibly play a guy in the 1’s who hasn’t played a competitive match for 9 months.

Let him play ressies in Rd 1 and then see how Collingwood cope with the Dynamic Duo.

I still cant believe we landed such a player. Pinching myself as they say. So rapt ! Cant wait to see him play in the RFC colours

If he is ready to go he plays against carlton - simple as that. Playing him for a half in the ressies instead achieves nothing - he is a hardened afl elite player. Fitness etc won’t be an issue - purely touch. Prestia was a similar situation.

Playing Tom Lynch in the reserves against hacks that want to make a name for them self's is not a great idea

Whats the difference play him round 1 against the blooz , They are just as bad as any VFL side

i'd like to see him out there this week against the Blues..

i was going to say playing against the Blues is kind of like a practice match...

Could be too rusty , Could kick 4 or 5, might do a hammy in the VFL, might not get injured in the AFL, Burge might get this right or wrong , however Burges record has been first class so I’ll be happy with what he believes is the best course for Lynch

Its been 4 months since his knee clean out in november

has been in full training last 2 weeks

no reason to get re injured playing a game

If he is ready to go , unleash the beast in the firsts ,if he doesn't catch it , Jack will ....the smurfs wont be complaining either.
