Luke McGuane

McGuane dropped to Coburg and guess what? Coburg finally win a game.
I didn't see the game but from the reposts I heard McGuane was good.
Think I few people here might be taking back what they said earlier.
Looking forward to see this gun back in the side next week. 8-

Are you kidding?

Bendigo winless with an average losing margin of nearly 20 goals. Mcguane played deep forward in the first half and basically sucked the oxygen out of the forward line. Clarke to his credit pushed him out to wing high forward second half where he performed more to his abilities (actually kicked a nice long goal) and the forward line worked a bit better.

Actually seeing Mcguane contaminate the Coburg forward line, I feel a lot more confident about tonight knowing he is out.

He won't be back this season, he's finished.

This is precisely what many were saying last year.
But I suppose if you keep saying it you'll eventually be right.

Wait and see, if A Edwards has one of his 0 tackle games he will be dropped quicker than a 14 year old with acne. If Luke then has a good game next week in the Burg he will rebound in quickly.

Naahhh.

Clarke moving Mcguane out of deep forward was telling yesterday.

The decision at half time was Luke was hampering Beanie and he got shunted upfield.

He is on his way out.

Another interesting observation form yesterday's game.

Beanie appeared to be struggling physically a few times and kept wanting to come off late for what would have been scheduled rotations, but the coaches kept sending him back deep forward.

They wanted him to stay out there and be the man.

Sure enough he clunked and gathered a few late and kicked the goal (and points ) that secured the game.

So you're saying if it wasn't for McGuane moving up the ground we wouldn't have won the game?
I rest my case.
McGuane can play anywhere.

Edited for accuracy.

I reckon Muscles will get another chance this season proper. A. Edwards does not play his role as it stands.

That’s true, they could potentially play in the same team if we absolutely had to because of a rash of injuries, or TV graduated to 1st ruck and we needed a forward/ruck to come in.

In any case, Aaron is in career best form in some ways, is it sustainable?

It’s a tough gig 3rd forward, hard to sustain form if you are marginal AFL player. We might see some more swapping between Luke and Aaron before the year is out.

i've said this 3-4 times now, but aaron edwards is doing his job by simply keeping mcguane out of the team.

He might Jack. He's not awful at Coburg and playing to instructions.

But he'd be behind Beanie for a forward slot.

Say what you want but I'll always admire a senior player who gives it his all in the seconds and doesn't sulk about being dropped.

McGun, Tivendale, Whitey even. real clubmen

Great call Baloo. Good clubs need those sorts.
