#lolNorf

Norf are as relevant as a fart in an elevator.

Fold them.

And GAGF AFL. For rewarding incompetency.
Has to be the last time. No more. No excuses to not perform next season, otherwise all clubs might as well take this issue to the courts.

Yet another compromised draft but now 4 another couple of years.. So sick of this kind of draft - don't think we have ever got extra draft help...

Commission chairman Goyder must think it’s like handing out bonuses to qantas boss Alan Joyce.
What a *smile* wit of a chairman. The man hasn’t a clue.
Stop all the meddling priority picks, handouts, compromised drafts, NGAs, academies and f/s *smile* discounts et al.
Level the playing field you corporate crooks.
Goyder can *smile* off. So can Gill, get on ya pony, yell yee haa and *smile* off into the sunset

History says that handing out draft picks works, and any club that requires such handouts will be sustainable long term. Shinboner spirit.

Just had a perusal at Norf list especially the midfield. Midfield is absolutely stacked and just starting to blossom. McKay is a blow so *smile* what recruit another back. No one noticed they have one the best key forwards around? They look about 4 players from being a pretty decent side to me. Farce of farces.

Compromised draft.
Compromised fixture.
Compromised management processes.
Compromised rules that are constantly being manipulated.

AFLHQ pretends it's running a premium sporting competition but it's nothing more than a corrupt marketing machine.

Even compromised video refereeing, it's rotten to the core and let's not mention the tribunal.

There's more angst to come I suspect.
Prior to the tee, Chris Scott asked Ross Lyon about Saints finals in a decade. Dorothy dixer. Both parties knew the answer.
It was setup and then Chrissy went bang.

But Chris and Ryan are not interested in getting angry, or getting noticed. They want results.
My guess is the 2024 picks will be reviewed next year and discarded.
And this year's end of first will stay.
But the Mckay compensation will be later than expected
(here's hoping that Chris and Ross are successful)

I can't understand the helping hand North keep on getting after playing finals less then 8yrs ago.
And we were compared to Fitzroy hadn't played finals for 10 yrs hadn't made a GF in 30 yrs and we got zero/Zilch.
What I'd going on?
Our 1st pick this yr might be pushed back to pick 56.
With all the Academy kids, father Sons, free agency compo & now with North's free picks.
This group running the AFL under Gilligan have ruined the game

Remember when we finished last and didn’t get first pick?
Remember when we finished second last and didn’t get a top 5 pick?

I think it’s wonderful , this great club with its many loyal passionate members that turn up every week rain hail or shine , look they even had to sell their soul and play games in Tassie , which was sad for the hundreds that turn up to their games in Melbourne each week, remember when they got a whopping 20K to their legend Boomers final game . Let’s not forget they have been very unlucky with their trading for elite players i.e Polec , Hall, Walker, Greenwood and how about they’re brilliant theory of getting old legends back to the club , it’s not really they’re fault that one of their board members has to take his shoes of to count past 11, he was a bloody legend of a footballer so can’t believe he hasn’t been a creative genius in the boardroom, so they just needs a little help to get back on track . Let’s face it every club is jealous of that mighty shinboner spirit , I’d imagine that’s what most fans of the game think of when they think AFL , actually I’m not sure where the AFL would be today without Norf , been such a colossus of a club and made the game the powerhouse in Australian sport that it is today.

in all seriousness I think they have a seriously talented young list , ad some high picks again this year and theyll be playing finals again very soon , owe the finals crowds will be ginormous, look out tiketek , the Norf sunami is just starting to gurgle

And to top it off, the AFL will give Norf around $8 million in extra funding than more than half of the AFL clubs.

Again, we don’t even get enough to cover the TPP mandated by the AFL! That should be the base distribution amount for all clubs, every year, regardless of their financial status.

None of us want a league where the premiership is only ever contended between the top 4-5 richest clubs every year.
Conversely, I doubt anyone is a fan of a league where “equalization” is so pervasive that the premier is essentially decided by AFL House based on their own internal agenda.

Clubs like ours must wonder, internally at least, what is the point of becoming financially independent when the AFL prevents you (through soft caps and other equalization measures) from using those resources to better your on field performances. Long term, that’s a recipe for serious trouble.

I wonder how long the Giants and the Suns will be given such greater dividends? I mean bloody hell, the Giants have been around since 2012 (12 seasons) and the Suns since 2011 (13 seasons). Are they still going to get propped up after 2 decades?

THE AFL 2023 FUNDING LADDER

1. Gold Coast ($25 million)

2. GWS Giants ($25 million)

3. Brisbane Lions ($18-19 million)

4. North Melbourne ($18-19 million)

5. St Kilda ($18-19 million)

6. Melbourne ($16 million)

7. Western Bulldogs ($16 million)

8. Port Adelaide ($16 million)

9. Sydney Swans ($16 million)

10. Fremantle ($11.5-12.5 million)

11. Carlton ($11.5-12.5 million)

12. Adelaide Crows ($11.5-12.5 million)

13. Geelong ($11.5-12.5 million)

14. Essendon ($11-11.5 million)

=15. Richmond ($10.5-11 million)

=15. Hawthorn ($10.5-11 million)

=15. Collingwood ($10.5-11 million)

=15. West Coast ($10.5-11 million)

Base amount of $10.5 to $11 million included

All figures are approximate which is why some ties, ie between the Suns and Giants on $25 million, are broken

North didn't even come last, and they get priority picks etc.

Absolute joke, merge them with Footscray and be done with it.
