in 96 he was 4 votes away from winning the brownlow.
What happened to him would never happen now. He would been sent overseas to see specialists or they would've just given time to fully recover.
He had back issues?? I forget

It was a good list that year.
So good he went for pick 2 (Brad Ottens), the subsequent trade of Ottens landed Meyer & Patto but the real kicker that year was a bloke called Corey Enright who was offered up as part of the deal. Moloney was also put on the table but we knocked that back too. If Wallace & Miller were reading the tea leaves correctly we could have walked away with Deledio, Franklin, Enright & Moloney.
But....... do we ever get Reiwoldt, Edwards, Cotchin and ummm, whatisname..... ahh that's it, I remember now... Martin
I thought a hip was the problem, he got some bad advice on treatments.
Probably still in the frame for Riewoldt & Edwards, Buddy exploded in his 3rd year and we probably wouldn't have chased Polak. I still think we would have picked up Riewoldt. The story I heard was that Jackson wasn’t happy that pick 8 was part of the Polak deal, and he had that earmarked for Riewoldt. Fortunately the Pies went for Reid, and Jack was still there at 13.

The norfs think they should get #3 as compensation for McKay, and they even want something for the racism investigation stemming back to Clarkson’s time at Hawthorn, because it affected their season. FFS!
