Little things that annoy you....

More amused than annoyed but a tad unprofessional of our bank to send out a gift with a 2010-2011 calendar in it. Appreciate the note book just the same.

'V' energy drink - the 'Not Orange' flavour has been absent from supermarket shelves for many weeks now. Could do with a can in the fridge to help me wake up tomorrow morning.

Won't buy the other flavours as I don't like them. Bring it back - NOW.

People that chew/suck on lollies loudly.

It may be that I'm quitting smoking.

But I could have strangled that guy. It wasn't just him. For all of Japan's customs and politeness, they have the worst table manners I've ever seen. Chewing with mouths open, talking and laughing with food in their mouth. The girls aren't ao bad. They cover their mouth when they talk.

2 more weeks. I won't be angry in two more weeks.

Most banks appear to be behind the times Rosy.

The word 'Literally' annoys me like no other. It's a word that does not need to be said but is used in interviews and television relentlessly. If there are hundreds of snakes there are hundreds of snakes not literally hundreds!

I also hate the term 'To be honest'. If someone has to say it occasionally it implies they lie a lot the rest of the time.

I'm with you on that one.

I recall a Seinfeld episode where Jerry pointed out to someone when they started off a sentence with "To be honest", Jerry butts in and says "Not that you would be dishonest!" in his usual comedic swagger.

Mobile phone batteries only lasting 24 hours or less.

Agree. Why technology (robot/computer) will never overtake the human.

21st century phones with 19th century energy.

I was actually going to post this term TOO, getting very annoyed by it. Steve Smith the other day was asked 2 questions and in those questions he said to be honest 3 times!

I think what people mean by that is that in this instance they aren't going to allow political correctness make them tell a lie.

just a few that come to mind,

. people that complain when its 25+ that its soooo hot then complain 9 and below that its sooo cold.

.when i worked at the Pub, the rowing amount of people who want to pay for their one beer on eftpos or make a $5 TAB bet on eftpos.

.country football arond my area, having to pay $10 to watch even just a quarter of the match....i rarely have time to watch a full match or want to but sometimes like to get some fresh air and watch 25 minutes, but they want to charge you $10 to do it.

In general speak whenever people say this I start listening closely because I think it means they may be about to tell a lie. I've caught myself saying it a few times and it's usually when I'm not sure of what I'm saying or I'm trying to direct the person to another topic!

'To be honest' simply means what it says. It just enhances what you realistically mean. I use it a lot. ;D

When I hear it tells me that if the person doesn't say "to be honest" then he's not.

It's probably because most people saw he did not lose many contests 1-on-1 or give up poor possession - he simply played a lot of time in the fwd half and we got our butts whipped and they had loose men all day in the back half marking the inside 50 ball. He was not good enough to win 2 on 1's especially when the ball came in poorly. I don't think anyone expects him to be that type of player though to be honest. Personally, I can't make a judgement on any of our fwds play because the ball movement was so bad most of the day.

I don't understand all the angst to be honest, we have signaled our intention to invest in the draft because we rate the talent, nothing wrong with that approach. Nick Malceski was about the only free agent worth pursuing but he is hardly the cream of the crop when it comes to free agents. Picking him up now may rule out grabbing someone next year.
Winderlich vs Varcoe? Both are injury risks but the latter would cost a draft pick, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

That, or we paid out his last year of the contract and then put him on rookie wages. not sure how it would work to be honest, but he wont be short changed.

Please explain. ;D
