Little things that annoy you....

IMO, chemotherapy triggers the cancer more than cures it.

Thats one school of thought but it was telling that when Steve Jobs asked if he had any regrets he replied it was wasting time on "alternative" cancer rememdies and not jumping straight into Chemo from the word go. By the time he relaised the alternate world wasn't working, he's was too advanced.

Bacteria, for example, doubles every set amount of time. The bigger it gets, the faster it grows, so it grows exponentially.

Apologies if I misunderstood the head scratch.

therefore, griff improvement in the first five round could reasonably be described as exponential improvement. it is a mathematical term, but is commonly, and legitimately used synonymously with words such as snowballing, dramatic, momentous etc.

thats why i scratched my head.

but everyone gets annoyed by different things.

my annoyance of the day is when you apologise unconditionally to someone and make restitution, and they keep at ya.

my cows got into the neighbours and knocked over her birdbath. I went over, apologised profusely and unconditionally, gave her 1 kg of eye fillet and offered to replace her bird bath ...... and she didnt get anywhere near saying 'no worries'

Ya see, I reckon griff improved dramatically but not exponentially.

Agree on commonly. Disagree on legitimately (although snowballing could be close enough). :)

Either way, that last day will come, chemo or not. Unless you're in deep pain (which I assume Rosy's dog isn't), I'd rather let time go by and die naturally without taking risks of further drugs or side effects within the body.

thats all fair enough.

Printers.
A couple of years down the track the cartridges are unavailable! The obsolescnce is very annoying.

The word 'Literally' annoys me like no other. It's a word that does not need to be said but is used in interviews and television relentlessly. If there are hundreds of snakes there are hundreds of snakes not literally hundreds!

Agreed. Another one that is over used is 'obviously' which is followed by a statement that wasn't necessary obvious at all.

The other one is getting ads for the next series of some show that isn't starting for another 5 months.

Oh and the guy that does every single voice over for Channel One in the same annoying tone.

Even worse is when they say literally for no good reason when the correct word is figuratively.

Yes! It gives the sense the person thinks everyone else thinks they think they're smart for saying it when they don't, so they have to qualify their statement with "I know this is an obvious thing to say, I don't think I'm smarter than everyone else for saying it, but I'll say it anyway..."

It's roots are linked with the Australian tall poppy culture IMO, obviously....

People who park in mother & baby car parks when they don't have kids.

I prefer parent & baby car parks. Dads can take the kids shopping as well ;)

What really annoys me is able bodied folk using disabled car parks just because there's a disabled sticker on the car. You can't just borrow mum's car with the disabled sticker and park in the disabled spots. Put a photo, or a name at least on the sticker of the disabled person, and if they aren't in the car, you can't use the disabled spot.

...

So can grandparents, family, friends, child-carers etc.

Massive peave of mine also. Especially at Barkly Square in Brunswick. The pram car parks are full of spankers who want to park closer in their cool intercity cars.

What is an intercity car?
