Little things that annoy you....

also, the suits act like *smile*s. Even if you think you are in the right, which I understand why they think that, I nice person would apologise, ask if they are OK (he did at the start before they got their hackles up), and provide details. Even if you think you are in the right.

Fact: the suits acted like *smile*s, or at the very least, not pillars of integrity.

....

I reckon I'd act a bit that way if one of the first things I heard was being told it's all caught on camera. Didn't warrant too much respect imo.

Just had a look at the video and I'm a bit both ways on this.

1. That is not a bike lane, it is a line on the road to separate the car lane with the footpath as to not put pedestrians in danger who are walking on the footpath.

2. The taxi only stopped because it was in heavy traffic.

3. The cyclist is riding pretty fast in heavy traffic.

4. The suits exited the taxi in the wrong place, this was not a taxi area nor was it a place to stop your car and park.

5. The words the cyclist used told me she was prepared to get hit or went looking to get hit, you don't say " can I have your details " after you get hit, that comes later after checking if everyone is OK, the same as car accidents.

I assumed she'd been hit a few times hence her getting a camera on her helmet so she can prove it in future instances. I think she's making sure she covers herself so well done to her.

I saw a story the other day how the the prevalance of dash board cameras in cars is on a marked increase too.

There's a curb. She is on the right of the curb, thats the road.

Yeah you're right there is a curb, she is on the road. My apologies.

If it's not a bike lane, is it okay for her to ride there then? I guess if that's all she has there isn't much of a choice, but should she be on the road with the other cars?

Is there a rule about riding a bike on the left hand side of traffic??

Common sense would say to ride on the right hand side of traffic or is that just me?

Road rules in this city have become a disaster nowadays.

Maybe we should go back to 1959:

it is legal for bikes (not motor bikes) to ride and pass on the left hand side, but they must give way to cars turning left

I'd assume if she'd been hit a few times she'd slow down and be a tad more cautious when a car stops in front of her.

Going by your rant post snakey, I agree with you. I drive a lot especially in city and inner suburbs where there's a lot of cyclists and give respect to them by showing awareness. sh!t I've held up the traffic a few times when turning left just to let a cyclist pass through ("other cars with beep, beep, beep.....move!!! behind me" ;D) Some/most have given me the thumbs up and smile, but as you said, just like other vehicle drivers, there are the *smile*s who just 'fly by' thinking they're riding in heaven or something with no awareness of heavy traffic. Motor bikes are the same, flying down the middle of two lanes and swaying left and right.

My annoyance posted on this thread is more about these 15 minute fame junkies who somehow want to video their bike rides and place it on social media.

good to hear TF! A bit of awareness and patience and everyones a winner. I reckon aussies are generally a bit ego-crazed and selfish on the road, take someone elses mistake a personal slight, treat their lane or road as their own. Very different vibe overseas, travelled to a few countries with what looks like chaotic crazy traffic, but when you actually observe it, drivers are aware of those around them, don't take things personally, and things flow, no road rage.

I agree the woman who shot this video is annoying, but the blokes didn't cover themselves in glory. Also the 'i got in all on camera' comment, sure its obnoxious, but when you're in a prang and confronting people, its not a normal situation, its stressful, the adrenaline is pumping. Surprised its got so much media, its not exciting

Yeah, was in Paris earlier this year bad the traffic can be chaos with people chopping and changing lanes but it's just accepted. If the same thing was done here there'd be triple the road rage incidents.

Bit of a worry if we're the worst with the ego snakey. I thought the Yanks were the worst with road rage, then again, they still park their cars unlocked and nothing happens. I see too many lunatics on our roads....too often.

I can understand why they want to video their journey to show proof of evidence if accidents happen, however, upload it to the cops and not You Tube.

The Essendon supporter at Coolangatta Airport who laid down across 4 seats while everyone including elderly needed a seat.

Also Gold Poach stealing our pregame battle drums idea.

They say school girls are so loud (and i do agree they can be) on trains, trams. I got on my 96 tram on Friday and when we arrived at the corner of Bourke and Swanston St there were several boys from Simmonds College who got on there and were obnixious the way they carried on. Screaming (literally) and carrying on, slapping as hard as they can on each others leg. Several commuters left the area in disgust.

Water Bills, I compared my bills from this summer (13/14 ) to last summer (12/13 ) I used 12% less water in the 13/14 summer than the 12/13 summer BUT it cost me 25% more this summer than last summer.

Save water they say, but be warned, the more water you save the more the cost of water will rise.

Just tried it and no it isn't auto correct. Loose and lose is still a problem online.
