Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Daniher who is the Verucas goldenboy said McBean will be a very good player whoever picks him up in the draft.
THey are good friends and played in the same team.

Both similar in height and weight.
I think Mcbean is slightly taller and slightly lighter than goldenboy Daniher.

A beanpole rover!

Wow!

Sticky hands, wonderfully intelligent footy brain, deft kick, vocal, grunty.

Our ruck and forward stocks just got a whole lot better. Forget 3-4 years. He'll be there in two. Especially with capped rotations.

Get on.

Thanks for that Carter. Might have a little celebratory stubbie. You done a match report?

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Just got home from the Coburg game.

Firstly, a confession, I wimped out and went home once the rain hit and am now enjoying a cup of tea and a bikkie. Just put a skirt on me and call me Sally.

McBean was the highlight of today's game, without a shadow of doubt. He's quick, has sticky hands in the air, rarely fumbled, kicked well, played tough footy when he needed to and showed good skills in general. One of his early goals was a gem, halving the marking contest, winning the ball on the ground and snapping a beauty under considerable pressure.

Vlastuin was good, so was Helbig. Knights had a solid game, so did White and Nahas. Edwards and Elton both presented well up forward and took their opportunities.

But McBean was stunning today. He was dangerous up forward and prepared to run around the ground when needed, often presenting for the kick-ins.

Good times.

Good to hear especially about Beano. Spoke well on the radio after the game and I'll be looking forward to see his progression in the next few years.

Time for Vloss to debut next week.

Off topic, but there is nobody to drop for Vlas. The only player who had a poor game was Ivan. I reckon its tremendous that glamour draftees suddenly have to do a bit of hard graft to make the seniors. How long since that has happened? Ever?

It's good to see, and today's Coburg game proved it, but it's time to be strategic and include a player we 'need' against a particular side. We don't need to follow the old rule of 'who played bad, gets dropped' anymore.

Maybe drop Batch for Vloss as we can loosen our defence and boost the midfield for pace and skill against the Dogs.

Anyone know what pick we took him at?

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Sounds like more of a natural forward than Vickery, perhaps the long term plan is for Tyrone to take over from Ivan and Mc Bean to move to the ruck forward position. Surely that sort of succession plan is unheard of at the Tigers!

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

said it in coburg board -- put him on a wing against GWS or GCS.

then laugh like a loon at how good he is.
