He had incredible anticipation, the ball just seemed to land in his hands somehow.

And don't forget, Sin, Hudson's bloody large hips, which he used so often to great advantage. His body positioning in the contest was unique.

I'm not sure Todd is the best comparison.

Agree. I still scratch my head when I try and contemplate the reasoning of Elton's ongoing signings.
Hasn't proved to be a very good investment.

If this week's game we had to win to stay in 8, I do not think McBeam will be playin.

B2

Psst B1. We are not in the running and while we were mathematically possible at different stages, we were never likely. ;)

Beanie was busier. More ball and more chasing. His hands were much surer at ground level. He brought the ball to ground ok. He should have done better with that stray tap in the forward line. He probably needs to clunk a couple next week. Even on the lead. And kick a couple.

1st time I have seen him live. Moves around the ground quite well for his size. But he is not a flanker so would like him to be more involved in contested marking. But he improved on last week which is encouraging

Just too smart, too classy to leave in the magoos.

Play him for the rest of this season and give him another couple of years. Still a kid. Could be anything.

Agree. Still only 21 and was drafted as a project player.

Historically and currently, there are many key position players who have taken until their mid 20s to consistently play at a high level. And it's not like he's been gifted 40 under performing games up till now.

seems a bit of a renege to name him (from) on the bench.

Dimma said 'hell play 3 games in a row in a presser"

hes had 2.

Why not just name the kid and a FP, take the blowtorch out from under him, and give him the confidence/licence to run and jump at the ball and perform some tricks.

I dont like, or get it, one bit.

Pretty damning bit of vision on Dimma's dissection at 3min.45 of Liam flinging a weak arm out to try and stop Matt Dea breaking away.
If that p!ssweak effort had been Ty he'd have been hung.
He's been called out for his poor defensive efforts in the VFL, it sure won't be tolerated at AFL level for long.
Needs to do better.

havnt seen the game oldster, but weak flinging arms arent good enough, no. One-armedness in any contest is a personal hate of mine.

I hope Dimma dissection also looked at Edwards timid efforts at tackling also. Unfortunately been tolerated in the AFL for way too long.

It might be a pet hate of the coach's too. Could be why he's persecuted the Bean, because I've seen several VFL games this year and he's done it in every game.

It's a lack of confidence and surety in his body. He's put on 15kg since we drafted him, but needs another 7 to hold his own with big AFL boys.

I think he'll have to play a lot of ruck, and probably end up one. Dean Cox is the model.

Has been average in his first two 2016 AFL games. I want to see him at least try and mark overhead with both arms up (the one-arm marking attempt has been too obvious so far) as well as see him getting to more contests.

Looked lost in Bulldogs game but a little better last week. Will be interested to see how Sunday pans out. Don't get me wrong - would like to see him succeed big time. However a little underwhelming so far.

Beano thread's been very quiet this past week.

sometimes wish he'd never been played at all (sung to the tune of bohemian rhapsody)
