Lean McBean !!!

That would be another contender Harry, Lean might just be the default nickname after a couple of coldies on a numbingly cold day.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

How about "Stringy"?

Relating to the variety of beans named String Beans (obvious relation to last name) and also ties in with Liam being of a stringy (wiry and lean) build.

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

well get another good look at him on Saturday.. ABC TV match of the day 1pm Sat. v Williamstown

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

His kicking technique for a guy his height is quite amazing.

Lean McBean !!! Looks very wiry and springy. does he really need to put on that much weight? how much does dustin fletcher weigh? cat like agility for a big man. had to re-watch the goose step, baulk and snap on on the left ten times over. I'm excited.

I agree that he may not need to put on much weight to start off his career. 10 games for coburg, get used to playing with men, get a bit stronger, he might be ready. Has to keep up the good for of course. Skinny arms and body never worried Robbie McGhie.

Don't build him too big too quickly.
Players tend to get injured when packing on too much size quickly.

If a player has natural ability ,he will be alright.
Jack doesn't look that big but still out marks heavier opponents.

x2

Stringy works for me. I can see it when he is 31 and runs around like David Cloke, string-bean will seem quite ironic.

Ally McBean? She was flat-chested as well.

You say that like its a problem with Calista Flockhart.

You could have also have said "most men" McBean, for the same reasons. Not as "funny" though eh.

Magic Beans.

Just plant one so Jack can get the goose that lays the golden eggs.

The goose was traded to Adelaide because his eggs were brown

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

looked very promising in the coburg footage im assuming he was 63, the other tall looked good as well number 70 was that elton?

Re: mcbean -- birth of a legend

Loving the McBean love, and havent seen him first hand, but cant help but wonder if the appropriate comparison for him might be Justin Westhoff. He came into the AFL looking like a broomstick and yet was able to make an immediate impact. Interestingly he is still under weight using the rule of thumb (height in cms minus 100 = weight in kgs). Thoughts?

Other way round Tango. They both looked good on the footage though don't they?

Liam McBean

Turned in an impressive performance. Marked the ball well inside-50 and contributed four goals. His development is coming along nicely, and he will benefit from playing in the forward line alongside Edwards, Derickx and Elton, allowing him, at times, to get the fourth tall defender.

gee if 63 was elton he looked really good>>>

Some very strong contested marking, there's a bit of Benny Gale about Elton, even down to the awkward kicking style.
