Josh Caddy

big last night. first text this morning from Bombers mate was - "How's Caddy! Did Geelong really get rid of him?"

There is some scuttlebutt on twitter about Scott disrespecting him at the end of 2016 which helped lead him out the door.

there's truth in this jb. aside from him being mates with Prestia, i think Brendon Gale knows his older brother? and got word that he was unhappy at the Cats. ..and what St Kev says above..

Cats wanted Deledio and initially sounded out Josh to move in a trade. He was taken aback. Then after Lids had gone to GWS, Caddy warmed to the move after being told he wouldn't get any midfield time and the rest is history.

Prestia also landing at the Tigers had a huge influence I understand.

He's what Stringer could be if he had a brain, and a heart.

Stringer massively overrated, Caddy has him well & truly covered in just about all aspects of the game. I paid particular attention to Stringer's kicking technique last night & it's flawed to the extent there's little to no improvement left. Josh is the best set shot in the competition right now & when he started clunking those pack marks I could only nod my head in admiration. Missing out on Lynch only hurts if we can't get a suitable replacement for Jack. Right now Caddy packs the same punch as any the CHFs in the AFL.

His older brother Saul was on our supplementary list I believe

Doesnt look like we will be missing out on Lynch, A pies poster on another forum (probably the only one with any credibility) has pretty much said that no matter what the pies have tried and offered Lynch is set on the tigers at the same $$$ as what pies are offering but the pies have offered him incentives after retirement which he is not interested in
the deal he mentions is 7 x $1mil

That's still good news, 1 million fair value, 7 years slightly overs but that's the market in this day & age. Looking ahead to next year I'd be getting Balta further up the ground into KMac's role, at this stage he doesn't have a huge tank but I suspect he has the capacity to hit a 14 beep. That effectively solves our ruck issues when Nank is resting up.

I agree with his record for injuries the 7 years is worrying but i suppose if it pays off and he can remain good until his 7th year could be a great deal and i suppose it was always going to be a $1mil deal for a free agent of Lynch's quality

I would love to see Balta played in the Grigg / McIntosh type role where he runs up and down the ground and also ruck relief, He would be a nightmare for opposition teams to man up

My Concerns are the midfield and the lack of a true inside beast with size like a Kennedy, I was and still am a fan of Jack Steele and think thats a player we should have really gone after specially for the cost the saints paid , Blake Acres , Will Setterfield for our 1st rounder i would take or its a long shot but Cerra in some way

Lynch is the sort of player that can have us top of the field again next year. Changes how we can structure up or allows Jack to start his Richo Run. Wing, up the ground, and a Brownlow Medal contender.

For those interested, Caddy is on a self imposed alcohol ban for the entire season. He's taking our title defence very seriously!!

Pricky obviously rated Gazza so much more. Besides he was a much better long-term investment than Josh.

:rofl

I really want to crush Geelong.

The last 3 games haven't been enough.

I want blood. Especially after what that *smile* said about us.

Geez he’s been a good pick-up for us. His marking and strength around the contest tonight was quality. Been a fan since he started (outside first game!) but has been much better than I expected.

Love the way he takes a pack mark, puffs the chest and struts back to his mark.

The best part is you know he'll snag the goal.

Absolute bull in the forward line.
