Caddy does the things good teams need players to do. The things most players on great teams do. Great example early last night, the play leading to Lambert's poster. North kicks to the wing, Rance with the big spoil. Cunnington and Caddy front and square as the ball spills our way. Cunnington has momentum in the direction of the ball, Caddy the other way, but he has position. A selfish player would have gone for the ball, got tackled and probably a ball-up. Caddy did the right thing and took Cunnington out of the play, legally (it's called a shepherd, look it up, other teams do them all the time), allowing Rabce to continue his momentum and gather.
Shepherds, knock-ons, little kicks off the ground to advantage. Caddy does this kind of thing a lot. It's good.
