Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Same work horse that's giving Marchin the freedom to be more creative and damaging.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

400k and 4 years for a decoy for Cotch/Dusty.

Sorry don't subscribe. Maybe just maybe Cotch and Dusty have taken their own games to another level. The new recruits have done very little.

Without Prestia and Caddy, Marchin would need to be one position closer to the breakdown. Cotch in and under trying to win the pill, Martin as first receiver.

Now they are one spot further along with more time and space to be dangerous.

No doubt PC need to perform in their own right but their inclusion makes the team better by freeing up our genuine match winners.

Good posting Baloo.

He is what he has always been. 15-20 touches and a goal a game generally. Even if he doesn't develop any further, he's still best 22 easily. Thought his last quarter was excellent after being anonymous much of the day.

Good assessment.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Only only positive about PC is that they both haven't fired a shot yet and we're still winning.

I'd say they have fired a shot or two. Most logical explanation for Marchin exploding out of the blocks

I thought it was due to our astute posters not accepting mediocrity!

yeah, and that

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

This might be some indication of how much difference he's making:

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=I&tid1=15&playerStatus2=A&tid2=15&type=A&pid1=3322&pid2=3453&fid1=P&fopt1=2016&fid2=S

A comparison of 5 to 3 games is not altogether invalid, plus Moore spent less time on the ground.

:hihi

He's such a bland player, makes me wonder what his attributes were that made him go no.6 in 2010.
big midfielders draw a lot of attention as juniors. TAC recruiters/ coaches love them.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Despite the fact that he plays a role I still think we could have drafted Barlow for the same type of contribution. Or we could have gone for an A grader in Rockliff.

Caddy kicked some very big bags in the TAC so it was assumed he'd be a true goal kicking mid.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Maybe it's just me but I don't get this angst over Caddy. He, Prestia and Vlastuin are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Caddy and Vlastuin in particular, crash packs, bring the ball to ground, block, tackle and create space. They are playing whole-hearted football and we are a much better team when they play.

Others are doing the flashy stuff and getting credit.

Barlow and Rockliff get a heap more pill. But Rocky wanted too much $$$$$

400k versus 800k sounds a lot but we're now stuck with Caddy whether he performs or not. Barlow was probably the best solution and then we could have kept pick 24.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Yes, agree but with Barlow, it was his age. My concern is really about the rest of the next Gen who may have, or seem to, have stalled - Markov, CEllis, Menadue and getting concerns about Bolton from reading his thread too.

But here's another possible scenario. I harbour some 'fantasy' notion that Graham, when fully fit, might go past them all as a true mid.

Just look at how Powell-Pepper is going at PA. And had a close look at the Blues SPS today. I'm calling it now. He's going to be a star.

Not Michael Barlow at Gold Coast? He turns 30 this year. Please no more injury prone 30 yo's

Would keep the seat warm until a draftee was ready to roll. The problem with Caddy is that he's hit his ceiling, he's one of those types who will always be in the 10-15 bracket as far as on field contributions are concerned.

Not sure any of these players have stalled. Last year was spent giving opportunities to younger players and the losses mounted up as a consequence.

Rioli, Castagna and Butler have emerged out of those opportunities. Others will too.
