JON gone at years End...

Leaving

Bling (traded to Adelaide)
Raines (traded to Brisbane)
Krakouer (delisted - Collwood)
Collins (traded to Carlton)
Ottens (traded to Geelong)
Schulz (traded to Port)
Rodan (delisted - Port)
Polo (delisted Saints)

would we take any of 'em back?

I think given the circumstances Ottens would have been a keeper but cannot blame him for going. Rodan needed the change and Krakouer was always going with a jailsentence. Thought *smile* could have been a good forward but did not seem to work hard enough at Richmond.

I think it would be nice if Otto would spend a season back at RFC as the no.1 ruck.

Basically the media insinuated that we had failed to identify the he was dsylexic/couldn't read or something along those lines.

Being unable to read I thought he'd fit in very well in the west.

<open RANT>

Anyone who still supports and thinks JON could play Senior AFL Football consistently by being selected on form NEEDS THEIR FREAKING HEAD READ!!

If anyone thinks JON was good enough to be an AFL Senior Football CANNOT judge footballing talent.

Throw Wallace in (or however drafted him....the pain refuses to let me remember!) or anyone with any belief, creditentials, apparent foresight....whatever.....I don't care if God thinks he could play.

HE COULDN'T. HE WAS BELOW ANY LEVEL REQUIRED TO PLAY SENIOR AFL FOOTBALL.

YOU WERE WRONG. AND YOU ARE HOPELESS AT JUDGING FOOTBALL TALENT.

GIVE IT A REST. SUPPORTERS OF JON ARE MAKING FOOLS OF THEMSELVES.
NEXT...

What pos would Schulz have played?
FF holding back Jacks development in 2010/11??
Krak? He's still the same 2 goal MCG specialist he was at the Tige's except now he can hide in a winning team and be praised for bobbing up with one good snap a game..... Pass

Have to give JON credit.

He got paid better ,not playing footy(very well) for two clubs over 5-6 years, than he would have got paid working a real job.

You would have to say he got the very most he possibly could out of himself and footy$$$$$$

He would be quietly laughing his he off,,,,,,,,,,

A few years ago I happened to be where there was some sort of AFL promotion on , I think it was for the Dreamtime game . JON was there so I went and talked to him. He was a terrific young guy to talk to , quite shy but friendly . A ripper young bloke actually .

To me he had some lovely skills , he moved beautifully and took a good mark above his head. The issue was his decision making and awareness obviously. Maybe that was always a problem he had but that's what you get for not being able to watch juniors consistently due to lack of investment in recruiting but I am sure his highlight reel as a junior player was impressive . You could have put a good highlight reel together from his time at Coburg as well if the negatives were ignored .

With the resources we have now we should expect that such a mistake could not happen again .

This was true, we failed at this, what west coast failed at realising is, regardless of an education, he was a terrible AFL footballer.

IIRC we did actually know he was dyslexic.

Greg Denham said on K.B.s show that we had been putting plenty of work into JON regarding his dyslexia/ inability to read. Wet Coke made out like it was some magic discovery that had been holding JON back and he would immediately blossom into an elite player. Looks like they were full of crap.

Summed that up intelligently Sinful.

Suprising he didn't go to Collingwood.

Think his IQ was too high for that Streaker.

Jack won't be playing FF if/when we're any good....*smile* would at least take Miller out

Karkouer would be a marginal upgrade on King who can also run through the midfield and even if Otto managed to impale himself he'd still be an upgrade on our rucks even with a 4 foot garden stake stuck in his leg.

Schulz...lol...lazy footballer, no engine, 7 years he did jack (actually nothing that jack has done) and we'd take him back? 4 of his last 6 games this year he had 7 possessions or less. 8 goals and 7 tackles in those 6 games. The guy is very, very luck to have been unbelievably 9 years on an AFL list. I am no fan of Miller but at least he has a positive influence off the field.

A terriffic junior footballer who couldn't convert at the highest level.

Shame he didn't make it.Not good enough.

The sledging about him isn't called for.
