JON gone at years End...

Ahhh ol Victa Nicholls eh.

And to think the Tigers coulda had Mitch Clark, tag teaming with TV in the ruck instead of duds like Pattison and Gus ffs.

Some hideous calls made over past few years.

JON, HUGHES CASS - amounts long term to ZIP, ZILCH, NADA, ZERO.

Wasted draft that one.

The 2005 draft effort by the RFC could well go down as the worst draft performance by any club in the history of the draft.

Was worse than the superdraft but even that was wasted after getting 4 first rounders .

I wouldnt call Meyer at 12, Plodderson at 16 and Polo at 20 very astute selections either, throw in Limbach and that draft was pretty ordinary i reckon.

Totally agree. The problem is most of our drafts aer pretty ordinary. It stands to reason when you look at how *smile* we are every year.

Shaun Higgins and Shannon Hurn also taken after him in the 2005 draft. JON has got to be our worst pick ever. He is a screaming dud. Always has been, always will be.

X factor. Pfffffttt!!! Thanks Francis.

Have to agree. I can at least see that Fiora had some standout games at senior SANFL level at 17 and could use the footy very well.

JON has been a disaster since day 1. Other clubs must have been giggling to themselves when we called his name out in the top 10. He is a pick 50+ project pick if anything.

Unfortunately 4 years too late. Worst footballer (so-called) to ever don the Richmond jumper - now that's a feat! Captain of the duds of the century.

Mitch Clark, Marcus Drum, Shaun Higgins, Nathan Jones, Grant Birchall, Travis Varcoe, Richard Douglas.

That my fellow punters is the exact order of the draft after we took the great JON. Lot of really good core footballers in that group.

Other than Drum, I feel pain looking at that list.

Mitch Clark FFS. It was so obvious that year. We needed a tall, we bypass a guy that was at one stage projected to go number one, for JON.

It is of no surprise that we are the rabble we are today with decisions like that.

Rodan not given a chance?

Different planet there Phil.
i agree.
rodan played 65 games in 4 seasons at richmond (he missed 1 year through injury).
that`s an average of 16 games a season.

that`s more than enough chance.
did he only stick up for him because he's a fellow indigenous brother? if so, does it mean he has a biased opinoin?
i think egan was his mentor,so he would naturally be biased towards him.

he hasn`t had much of a chance in the seniors, but he looked pretty bad when he did.
him and edwards are in the same boat,no awareness.
i`d actually rather JON in the team than edwards.

both will (should) be delisted at the end of the year.

OMG

that is so damning.

I cry and cringed looking at that list.

No way am I defending the decision, but Mitch Clark was considered by a few good judges here in the West to be a risky pick. His attitude was questionable to put a good spin on it. Personally I think he was lucky to go to the Lions where Matthews, Voss and co. could have sorted him out and put him on the straight and narrow.

The rest of that list sans Drum, with the possible exception of Douglas, would look great in a Tigers jumper right now.

Edwards won't be delisted this year, I've been an edwards knocker for most of the year but he's in a different class to JON, we know Edwards has the skills and potentially the class but JON is a joke. I've been semi impressed with Edwards since he's come back into the team.

Its a real shame this thread is new and not dated August 07. How did we keep this spud for four years?

JOn and edwards the same re awareness? You have to be kidding, they are poles apart in that area. Edwards may have a few shortcomings, but awareness is not one of them. His work in traffic and vision can be pretty good at times. JON is SHOCKING in this area.
