as what, do you think?

he is not quite big enough to play week in week out as the 3rd tall. he is not quick enough or skilled enough to play as a rebounding defender.
i reckon if he played in a defence that had 4 or 5 good rebounders he might be ok as a tough medium defender, but with our lack of run we cant afford him on the half back flank.

dont mind him in the vfl as backup but he shouldnt be playing every week.
forward? meh. dont think any team can afford to carry a not quick medium forward unless they are super smart and deadly around goals.
That's it Paul....I don't see anywhere at AFL for him, good old fashioned VFL player, as I think Tim suggested, maybe a tagging role, personally I've put a line thru him

There was a moment late in the 3rd maybe? A bad goal conceded through a turn-over and he dropped his head. I haven't seen that happen since Hardwick took over. I may have missed it, but it has been a trait I have liked in the Tiges since Hardwick that they didn't drop their heads no matter what.

Mark Maclure gave him a wrap on TV last week and said he was "strong down back."

Yes, I know he's a flog, but the guy rips into us every chance he gets. Surely he must be showing something more than these boards give him credit for.

I think the club has set the wrong agenda for him. I think it was last year he was put on a 'bulk up' plan, which resulted in him looking more like Mr Stay Puft than an AFL footballer. This year he is bigger, stronger, slower, less skilled...

Get him back to the size he was in his 2nd year, get him hitting the track more than the gym, and focus on skills at every opportunity.

For me, there is still hope but not on the current plan set for him, which I pressume is by the coach and club.

He said he dropped some weight in an interview on the club website earlier this year.
I think he still needs to lose more though.

I watched the last quarter of the geelong game during the week and I was surprised at the way batch took the game on. Sure he got caught and looked silly a few times but he was one of the few not relying on others to get our game started. I still think there's potential there.

Yep there are aspects of his game that are quite good. Needs to polish his disposal a bit though. I think batch is a solid depth player, won't necessarily get 22 games a year but good depending on matchups and injuries.

Reflects how stuff in clueless our coaches are that this spud plays as many games as he has

Yep he was good today but looked very tired in the last. Probably from the stress of all the woeful turnovers up the ground and no defensive pressure.

Just read a quote from SuperCoach saying Jake has been a shinning light for us this year! Stuff me stuffing dead I never thought we'd see a coach at our club with a lower football IQ than Spud but this just confirms it!

That was in response to a question on the Dissection, which said that he had improved and how did this come about. Hardwick agreed, so despite all the vitriol about him here, he won't be dropped any time soon. He has improved his marking, but still massive question marks over his disposal and decision making, but Hardwick doesn't really seem to care about those. He's turning into another Frawley, valuing heart over everything else.
