Jake Batchelor

Have always held hope for this fella after his first season with the Tigers, but really starting to question his worth to the team. Is appearing, more and more, to be a weak link.

Not sure what he adds. Poor kick, rarely puts pressure on in tackles. He's quite good in the air on mid sizers, but thats not enough to keep him in the team. Try Drummond, Lennon or Ellis down there.

Sorry Jake your the weakest link........time to go. 6 disposals in 3 qtrs as a running HBF. Spud

He's kicking is shocking too. 3 clangers from 6 disposals and he doesn't put pressure on. Don't like him and don't think he will take us anywhere. Need to look at an alternative.

One of McDonagh, Lennon, Ellis and even Drummond have to come for him next week. Surely even SuperCoach is smart enough to see what everyone else can see now.

Without repeating myself I'd rather see a kid with pace an skill expiremented with in his place, way too many goals come thru him

Lennon hopefully - but he's got to earn it.

Yep. No argument here. We desperately need to find another running half back. Jake ain't the answer.

I've defended him at times in the past but it's pretty clear to me he's not up to it. I don't see any reason we can't replace him with Lennon in that role. Similar size with vastly superior mobility and skill.

Of course it won't happen and at the best of times our master coach isn't capable of positive or forward thinking. He favours conservatism and is *smile* scared to make unforced changes after horrible losses so it certainly won't happen after a win. Expect to see a lot of Jake until we lose a few in a row.

Despite the big win against the Lions Batchelor had 7 disposals, 0 tackles and a game riddled with errors.
His position in the team surely has to come under scrutiny. I would drop him.

Not really worried about the disposals for a backman. He should have more tackles though, but who was his opponent? What did he do?

It's so hard to know, they go through so many players these days. Had various opponents at given times.
As a pure stopper he's probably done his job last week as many of the Lions moderate forwards had little impact.

Some will argue he's not the worst player on our list and would be stiff to get dropped from a team that won by 79 points.
However Bachar aside, my belief is we've not got enough quality ball coming from HB.
Lennon should be groomed in his role. We need more players who can reliably hit targets by foot coming out of defence and Batch misses too many.
