Cannot recall who he hit in the 3rd or 4th but it was a beauty!

That was good. Nice to see a physical side to his game.

Farren Ray I believe.

Yes it was. It was great to see him do this. He is a real no frills player who should play a lot of footy for us.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

It's his instinct and timing for the errant ball into the opposition's forward 50 that impresses me. He peels to perfection.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Batchelor and Helbig both look a treat. They're first two games have been better than the average game for most of our veterans.

Excellent start for both of them. They're only going to get better with experience, confidence and size.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

More impressed with batch than any other rookie thus far. Helbig and conca will probably end up being better players, but for noe batch is more mature and level headed currently showing heis able to adapt to the pacd of the game than the others

Better version of Heppell.
Yeah I reckon the reason why we didn't go for Heppell is that we hoped to get Batchelor who is similar. 2 for the price of 1 in a sense.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

He was excellent last night, great reading of the play... knows when to leave his man, gets in there and isn't afraid to throw his weight around. Can't wait to see him with a bit more bulk

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Saw some really nice work from him tonight - mostly on the ground stuff. One bit - where he paddled the ball along on one side of his body (almost bouncing it basketball style - only very small bounces) whilst holding out his opponent on the other side of his body in traffic - then batting it to advantage was cracking. Other stuff - uses his body well to shield and shepherd in tight really well. Doesn't over commit and get caught running under it or past it - protects goal side. Stuff we don't see much of from Richmond players. Definately my fave of the new 3 draftees to have played.

He's not a bad player this bloke. Looks to have a good footy brain. Makes a nice change at Richmond.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Really good Pick - he is a quiet achiever. The experts won't realise he is a good player until next year after he has played 22 solid games for the Tiges.

Agree , only thing ive seen negative is he may lack a yard of pace
