Yes there's not doubt that Duursma has been very good. Ross has come into the side and has arguably been our best midfielder, which in my eyes gives him the nod.

Calm and fearless and just like Stack plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Quite a big boy too at 187cm.

C Ellis might hit more targets during kick to kick too.
But jack Ross is a contested footy beast at AFL level.

It must've been a close call but I suspect Duursma being a first-rounder tipped the scales in his favour. Pick #43 isn't very sexy. And giving the nom to a man-child might've appeared unfair to the other little boys.

You get the feeling that they sometimes give it based on a period of consistent games, Jack has played the 3 & Durrsma from round 1. Hopefully Jack or Sydney are soon

They definitely do that in later rounds where there is no standout performance.
