Ivan Soldo

Great game today by the big fella!!!
Not a given Nank gets straight back but I don’t think we can have both in the same team.

Nank or Soldo are 1st options.

2nd ruck we need someone more mobile and agile that can back up KPF or back..... as of right now it’s Chol / Balta / CCJ

I would keep him in for sure and have Chol make way for Nank. Can't see why Nank can't play the second ruck position.
Yes, Soldo must stay in for Chol for Nank. He won the ruck from 15 min mark of the second quarter. Nank is also available in the forward line. This will be our best combination.

Awesome tap to advantage performance

I don't understand the logic that Soldo and Nank can't both play.

Think about it this way.
Out: Chol
In: Nank

Upgrade. Soldo does the same as today. Nank does ten times more than Chol. Win.

So out of the top 4, who has the most dominant ruck combination.

Over the season, has our weakness of only having Nank (and Grigg) now become a strength ? - I actually don’t know the answer but suspect we have at least nullified a weakness.

Surprise packet of the day admittedly against a journeyman rickman in Hickey.
Was fantastic at the centre bounce and throw ins.
Looks to have built his strength this year.

He was fantastic yesterday.

With Nankervis unlikely to return this week l, he is in for a massive challenge against Martin - who is superb around the ground compared to Hickey.

This game will be remembered when Ivan Soldo came of age as a genuine ruckman
Reckon he's had better games especially the collingwood game against grundy. Keep in mind he only played against hickey.

He is playing well enough to keep his place. Personally, I think Soldo and Nank is the best combination. Soldo will hold his own at the stoppages around the ground. I think Dusty, Scissorhands and Prestia, in particular, enjoy his grunt and repeated hit outs.. He is seriously huge and this presents a challenge to even the best ruckmen.

Nank is perfectly capable of squeezing out a couple of goals each game and will appreciate rucking against guys who have been softened up by Soldo first. Plus, if we want to save a game, we can deploy him a kick behind play for a while and go old-school ruck defence. Plus, being second fiddle should make him grumpier than usual.

And for a bonus, Soldo is a pretty straight kick at goal, providing he can clunk it, of course.

Soldo has been a real revelation in the second half of this season.
