with Soldo there. Soldo is a ruckman of a bygone era.

Hang on. He only played his first ever game about three years ago.
Where who or how did he learn bygone era rucking.
The entire club stunk it up v north this weekend.

Singling anyone out is just a mistake

There's stats and then there's stats.

Soldo 7 tackles. Yeah when he collapsed on players under his feet.

I gave up counting the missed tackles Soldo had.

I’ve been a big supporter but last night watched him up close and personal. And it wasn’t pretty.
Refused to put his hands up in the air to signal he wanted to provide a marking option. Saw him numerous times with hands on his knees as if to say “please don’t kick it near me, I’m trying to hide”
As a tall player you have got to want the ball. Seperate the wheat from the chaff.
He had the lowest impact from any tall on the ground. His tackles mainly came from ruck contests where he was forced to be around the ball. Disappointing and should be dropped. CCJ wants the ball. Big difference

Yep and CCJ will be a threat forward through his marking and his smarts. Play the kid.

A lot of complaints that a 10 gamer was punching instead of taking marks. Confidence
Equal hitouts but beaten with far too many hitouts to advantage. Attitude and defensive rucking skills.

He got schooled. Big difference as a 2.06m giant in the vfa and then matching size in the afl. He will learn. He has to. 6 more matches

And Astbury rucked the last quarter.
Soldo either injured, not fit enough or Dimma was on plan z

CCJ is playing like a spud at the minute. Not sure he'll be as good as we think.

Did anyone watch the VFL today? Reminds me of Patto.

Not the entire club.
Apologies to the W-tigers

Well done ladies
Well done!

LOL.

Please no. No one could be that bad

Rather than chasing dime a dozen midfielders we should go after Rowan Marshall with whatever we have .

He was certainly taught a lesson by Goldy, who when fit is one of the best rucks in the last 10 years.

But not the first 10-gamer ruckman to be schooled by an A-grade ruck.

One thing that was noticeable with Goldy was his ability to ruck to a spot and then position himself for a follow up possession.

Whilst he had a reasonable game v Hawthorn he’s just not a modern day ruck (who essentially is a large midfielder).

He averages 6 disposals a game, 1.5 marks (0.3 contested)

He’s just not a real footballer. He’s been on the list 5 years now (first 2 development) for 10 games. He,ll be on the list for probably 2020 and that’ll be the end of him.

You need your reserve ruck to offer better value than what Ivan offers.

I’d just play a 25 possession midfielder and get him to immediately tackle the opposition ruck every contest to force a random scramble.

We’d be better off, not joking.

Yeh, the cats only have Zac Smith, but I still think we need a ruckman. Soldo v Smith is not one or the ages.
