Yeah it was hard to tell at the game. BUt was easy to know at the game was that we were getting smashed in the clearances.

I thought the Dogs just read it well. It's quite brilliant the way they knock and tap the ball around to get the clearances.

Can't be down on Soldo, did a creditable job although Boyd had statistically his best game for the year.

Takes a nice mark and looks a neat kick. Good potential. The coaches should have told him to belt it 30 meters forward when he was up against Jong

The way Bontempeili was shaking the taps should have done it all night.

Good signs from the big giraffe, Nankervis at 22 and Soldo at 21 start to make our ruck stocks look a little brighter for the future

Couldn't ask for more from a 1st gamer 21yo ruckman who only picked up the game 3 years or so ago.

Our next generation team is start to look good

Was it just me or was he getting great hitouts but directly to where our players were standing which easily picked off by bulldogs running through the stoppage.

I never played football at this level but did play around stoppages and you need to get the ruckman to hit it into your path and move through the stoppage.

Dissapointed that it continued all game, can't imagine a Hodge, Mitchell or Selwood not changing that during a game.

Good that he was actually able to direct his HO, something to work with going forward.

good call gdog.

I actually thought, whilst it was creative and clever, putting Lin Jong against young Ivan was a touch cynical and disrespectful to young Ivan and indeed the whole craft of ruck work.

as well as your suggestion Gdog, I would have sent the runner out and given young Ivan carte blanche to catapault every fibre of his 106kg front on, at full pace, straight into him.

Big contributor to their centre clearance work. Their mids were on the move, ours had their feet planted

Started well but his fitness is miles off where it needs to be. Understandable given his background.

Boyd turned the game for the Dogs and was dominant in the second half. Big Ivan was out on his feet.

Playing him instead of his cousin who would have at least competed probably cost us 4 points. The plus was it was an invaluable learning curb for him to take back to VFL next week and the rest of the year.

Has a future, just not now.

I thought Ivan Snr wasn't available due to being injured

Short memory Daisy? How on earth can you say that??

The 3 snr games (yes that's right 3) Maric played in last year we lost all of them.
In his last 2 games he had 4 and 2 possessions respectively.
He was COOKED!

I think leysy is still on a learning "curb".

Maricnade

He has more to offer as a second ruck to give Nank a chop out than Elton.

Nope I'm afraid not anymore. What little pace he used to have has dropped further. His time is done. You couldn't play him pinch rucking and CHF.

Agree Maric is cooked. But he would never have got destroyed to the noncompetitive level young Ivan did in the second half to a second ruck in Boyd though.

And doubt he would have last night.

Anyway, Nank is back this week. Thankfully.
