Ivan Soldo

We got killed in clearances. Cost us the game.

It's hard to know whether it was Soldos fault or our midfielders.

Got a taste of the big league and looked exhausted in the last quarter. Nank could well have been the difference for us tonight though.

I would be happy for him to keep developing in the 2's for now though, but he showed a bit tonight

Was rucking against midgets and tapped it to the dogs all night. Is he brain damaged?
really i haven't seen the stats but thought he dominated the taps but our mids are too stupid and weak to win clearences. Seems to me he was tapping to where he has been taught.

With Nankervis back next week I would drop Elton and keep Soldo in the side.

Agreed. Better in the ruck and won't get as tired playing a bit more fwd than he was allowed to tonight.

No tripe 42 hit outs first game. Sorry for him our mids aren't used to home delivery too busy watching the telly.

Did not adjust to the dogs sharking his hit outs. No understanding with the mids. Poor clearance numbers due to this.

He's certainly not ready to play first ruck. Physically or in terms of experience.

But he showed a fair bit. I'd be happy for him to play second fiddle to Nank next week. It's a bit of a toss up between he and Elton. But Elton's not getting any better.

He needs to watch what Nank does after the tap out.

Plenty to work with. 2 years away still but could hold his head high after tonight.

Sam Jacobs type ( I am not saying he will be as good) . At 23-24 we will see a pretty decent ruck imo

In the first quarter he gift-wrapped it to our mids but they fumbled and gave it up.

From the second quarter he didn't seem to get up as high, and they started sharking it.

Our mids aren't fast enough by hand and don't spread and overlap enough. And he's still not fit enough to be first ruck in the big league.

Next week he may have a role nullifying Sandi's taps. Beyond that he is still on an upward curve, but whether he can get mobile enough to play alongside Nankervis is the long-term question.

Bevo knew right away, about Soldo's inexperience - and took advantage.

The experiment was as good as the north koreas missles launches
A big fat faliure

Showed that there's something to work with. Will benefit from the experience I think, at least getting to know the pace of the game etc. much better long term decision than playing Maric, had he been fit.

Absolutely this. Doggies gripping the ball like its on velcro and pinpointing a release handball. We just fumbled :help

Yeah it was hard to tell at the game. BUt was easy to know at the game was that we were getting smashed in the clearances.

Soldo killed the hitouts for the majority of the game. I reckon our mids have been poor at reading ruck taps for too many years. Well done to the young lad.
