Ivan Maric

Ivan greatest asset is that he brings the ball down close to him. This prevents tap ruckmen tapping the ball out into space where the Mitchells, Priddiss's , Swan's Selwood's etc etc excel with quick clearances. Hampson was doing that when Ivan was out yet around the ground Hampson lacked stamina.
 
What about the big Ivan for captain. I reckon Trent's gone backwards as a player big time since being captain and would be a much less burdened player passing on the mantle. Ivan has respect from the players, is a leader and a force on the field. Also hopefully he can see which end the wind is blowing on the toss.

Like your thinking Saigon but I think we'll finally see a no *smile* Cotch next season. Don't think he gives a damn whether he's friends with these blokes anymore.

Good for the club.
 
Hope you are right Carter Trent is of course a real tiger favourite of mine and most of us die hards but he just doesn't seem the player he was pre captain days. Would love for him to come out and prove me wrong and rip it up, be an inspirational leader and win a brownlow with a premiership medal to top it all off. His disposal is my big concern, just gone so backwards.
 
Clearly Ivvy is worth a lot to us but on turning 29 next season, is he going to be part of our next premiership?
Depending on his contract and salary I'd shop him around and see what clubs are prepared to part with.
Obviously has an impact for our team but hasn't reached the levels of 2012 the past 2 seasons.

Love him but not untradeable for the right deal IMO.
Obviously would need to gain another ruck option in return.

take the point on age ToO but Ivan is fair dinkum worth 3-4 games to us in 2015. he's just crucial at stoppages.

until Dimma changes the game plan we rely heavily on the Croat.
 
If Hampson could regain the early season form then it's an interesting idea. But without a firing Hampson we'd be castrating ourselves.

And thats not to mention off field leadership and worth of the big man.

Early season form? Must have missed that game....pft, this bloke is a liability of the highest order, always has been.....always will be!

I like Ivan, he's an on field leader already, but making him captain is possibly fraught with danger, especially given his age and propensity for injury.
 
Has all the attributes of a captain but I feel not the right age profile for our team. But Ivvy still has plenty to add to the team. Not least of which should be a team rule that, if we win the toss, we kick to the end that the mullett is blowing to.
