Not if it's Jack talking about our game plan or style.

Has there ever been a player to come to a club who had very little wraps an become an absolute fan favourite like Big Ivy

I can't think of one, his is a great story. A quality player and person.

Probably not but Miles is coming quickly! ;D

The bit that I wasn't expecting from Ivan when we got him was the leadership skills. I thought we'd have a workhorse plod style ruckman, who gave us some physicality in the middle, but not a lot more. I knew he was a decent kick, especially for a ruckman and an OK mark. He was a fantastic get. I love his candidness, and can just imagine what he says to people in the locker room.

Dunno whether he was nervous being mic'd up, but he was certainly uninspiring. I think he's a leader by actions rather than words.

Always found it surprising how much he was loved by Crows fans for how little he produced.... Just about my Favorite Tiger

Crows mate of mine told me when we picked him up that we will love him. He said the Croweaters loved him cos he always gave his best and made others around him stand taller. Got overshadowed by Jacobs athleticism. He was spewing they traded him.

I remember his first interview on the club website and thinking he was a bit dopey, not particularly impressive. Couldn't have been more wrong . You could make the same wrong conclusion from the mic'd up training. Clearly it is his intensity, warmth and lead by his actions that make him special.

Also remember the video that he also said that all he wanted to do was get out on the track and lead the way. Prophetic words.

Just read on Twitter that Ivy had the worst HO to advantage of any ruckman in round 1.
His game hasn't attracted much comment but given we were pretty much beat up at the centre bounces is it any cause for concern?

No he's just a short ruck these days, strong, mobile but short, marks and contests well around the ground, kicks goals.
Ironically Hampson is a good tap ruck, but that's the limit of his skills at present.

Let's see how he goes this week. iVan made up for it around the ground so he earned his keep. But there are certain types of ruckman iVan struggles against. Question is do we then use Griff or bring in Hampson or Plasma ?

I'd blame the receiver for not getting the footy.
Not the ruckman.

Did they give actual figures? I had them in my downloaded paper but i deleted it!

Maric still can't jump.

The more athletic rucks jump all over him at the centre bounces.

However, he is still a big presence around the ground.

I re downloaded the paper and got the HOTA figures.

Maric 33 HO, 4 HOTA (12%)
Wood 28 HO, 5 HOTA (17%)

Griffith 4 HO, 2 HOTA (50%)
Rowe 5 HO, 1 HOTA (20%)

So Wood had 1 more HOTA than Maric but Maric and Griffith combined had 6 HOTA as did Rowe and Wood.

Some others from rd 1.

Well done Tim. I find that pretty concerning given our poor centre clearances. Ivy was pretty good around the ground but he also needs to have an impact in the middle. I can see some rucks beating him up at the bounce..
