Ivan Maric

Agreed, thought Spencer dominated him at times yesterday. The weight of shouldering the lion's share of rucking is starting to tell.

Would like to see Derrickx take the #1 ruck role against GC and Maric play as the resting ruck in the forward line.
That way Eeeevan has a bit of a break

Glad they've put a fit ruckman in that can shoulder some of the load. Ivan's been carrying a big workload on those shoulders all year with very little relief, hopefully Derickx can provide some of that.

If big Ivan was "rested" what a horrible decision,
How can you rest one of your best players when currently half your team is already out!!!

I have no doubt that he has been burnt out,
I could see by round 5 that this would catch up to him....you can't ruck 85% of the game every week and think anything less,
especially for a bloke who is playing his first full fair dinkum year of AFL.

Bad player management Richmond.

Well Jukes what was the other option considering the issue with TV? Gus???!!! I think not.

May well have lost a few others if we'd rested him more.

I hope he's not injured. Desperately need this Ivan for this year and beyond.

I think a rest was needed for him to last rest of the year. He has been down since the Freo game. He looked exhausted in the Melbourne game by some of his acts. He has carried a massive load and I would hate to see him cop a serious injury due to fatigue late in the year

too late.

why didnt they rest the big fella in the forward line ?

he isnt going to get shorter, and he could have just stayed in the goal square,

with the amount of inside 50s we had and the way the ball was being bombed in it might have helped to have ivan there

he is a decent mark and has kicked goals

would have freed Jack as well

Good call. Just leave him in a cox role in the square, let dud graham do the rucking, and play jack at CHF. Surely we would have snagged a couple more goals with Ivan there.

Yeah good thinking........................ he then aggravates an already aggravated groin, might even need surgery next. Dimma would never have thought of that though.

If so they should take no risks whatsoever and go shopping for some genuine support for 2013.

That will be Vickery once we have taken Cloke as a free agent.

Until then we'll have to get by with Post in the Vickery role. We can't play Gus as a relief ruck.

:stir

Beavis says Ivan has had a groin injury for a few weeks now. Most likely not train but just turn up on match day to play the game.

I guess that explains the drop in form we've seen the last few weeks.
