Tyrone knocked a guy out. Ivan's guy got straight back up, and there wasn't much impact in it. Reckless at worst, the GWS player jumped as well, so Ivan's arm hit him high. He was attempting to protect himself and the ball.

Didn't think there was anything in it at the time and still don't. The designated ruckman was on Maric's left, that third man in tried to take Maric's line. But then they were blocking and holding at the stoppages all day.

Big Ivvy just trying to keep the arms free to contest the tap out. His ruckman was on the opposite side n Ivvy didn't even know there was a third man trying to come over the top.
Ivvy obviously didn't hit the bloke very hard as he got up again.
Just a waggle of the don't do it again under Ivvy's nose should be sufficient for now.

Why was that player even there in the first place (the one he hit) I thought before the ball was supposed to be thrown in there are 2 designated ruckman who can not engage till the ball is in the air.

I also thought Ty looked better in the ruck than Maric. The stats say he dominated the HOs but i'd like to see his HO to A numbers.
It's a worry going forward, Ivvy is losing more contests than he's winning currently.

Ivan's contested possessions and efforts are what makes him invaluable, I reckon he is right up there with Mumford in that department.
While not as good a tap ruckman as Mark Lee he's the best we have had since the General.
That tap to Shed for his first goal in the last quarter was fantastic.

I like Ty in the ruck and think that will be his position. I don't know what his hit out's to advantage are but they would be very good I'd imagine.

Yeah..but so is Callan Ward.....

You can interpret these stats any way you like.

We easily won the HO's 49 to 28 but HOTA we only won by 5 (13 - 8). A ruck combination of Downie/Ward isnt exactly the A grade ruck unit out there.
