Actually, there is (and always is) some fantastic music out there...just not usually on the 'popular' charts where it's the exception rather than the rule.

Anywho... it shows how out of touch the organisers are or more how the 'entertainment' is increasingly a big advertisement, usually for the current muscical in town. Is Barnsey also releasing some new garbage? Wouldn't surpise me

I once did a gig with Barnsy at the (then) Docklands Stadium. Don't know why, his warm up room was the AFL drug testing room ;D

why are you lot so surprised? the pre-game entertainment has always been diabolical. they dumped the half time entertainment years ago because it was so embarrassing... the pre-game stuff should be next. mind you, i think the AFL loves the tacky, cringe worthy pre-game crap. Why else would they continue to do the same thing year after year?

sidenote: every year they always get kids to march onto the ground carrying oversized AFL club logos in the shape of large crown casino chips. then the kids run in circles and wave them up and down to the tune of whoever is singing on the day... then they give a birdseye view from the helicopter. why do they do this EVERY SINGLE YEAR?

Angry used to belt out some pretty hard rockin' ditties with Rose Tattoo. Attempting a radio-friendly tune in an enormous venue with poor acoustics like Waverley wasn't his finest hour.

AFL pregame 'entertainment' is a joke.

just bring in somebody with a good voice to sing the national anthem, and get the game started imo

Ever since Peter Allen was booed by impatient fans in 1980, GF entertainment has been on the nose. 30 years later, the VFL/AFL still hasn't got the message.

Jimmy Barnes? At least get the full Chisel lineup together and preserve a skerrick of credibility.

Yes he's bringing out more garbage, it never ends. If I Get a grand final ticket this year I'm gonna have to bring ear muffs. An absolute embarrassment for our code to have him centrestage.
