Grand Final 2020 Thread Richmond Vs Geelong / Game Day Thread

Been a long week ..still getting trash messages from my Cuz and step Sis and from a couple of Aussie Geelong supporters In Gaborone Botswana .There very confident mmmmm.
I'm the only Aussie for at least 300ks ..think I'm the only Tiger in the country . Most Aussies I know here are Collingwood , Essendon or Geelong fans...not many Aussies in Botswana ..but have introduced Aussie rules to a few of my local mates here ..they like it and they all follow Richmond of course ( show em 2017 and 2019 Grand finals as an intro to the game )
So So Hoping for a win tomorrow .. Geelong fans will be unbearable if they win ..

Ive purposefully avoided ALL media this week and feel better for it.
Its the same narrative and agenda as previous years.
In 2017 it was all about how superior Adelaide were.
In 2019 it was a weeklong GWS wank fest
This year its a combination of both of the above in relation to Geelong (the witches hats specialists)

Yes they are a good side, yes we need to respect them, yes it will be a tough match. Nobody is underestimating them here.
But the reality is if we turn up and play at our toughest and chaotic best, we will win comfortably.

Have my ticket for tomorrow, nervous as F---, I'll be lucky to sleep tonight. One good thing is I'm using a Geelong ticket courtesy of my son inlaw. I hope we are still speaking Saturday night.

Yep. His credibility is on the line. Can see him doing something desperate, like trying to take out Dusty or Lynch early.
i don't think that will happen but it did cross my mind earlier ... kinda wouldn't put it past the rat ...

i would be surprised if its not greasy even if there is no rain , around game time .

79 percent chance of rain in the two hours leading into the game with 79 per cent humidity
So it’s not going to be the best game to watch. Will be a slog. Wonder if they’ll have cool rooms for the players like they did in Darwin.

Catters have had two soft runs after drubbing by the Porters . Only issues in their geriatric favour are shorten quarters & the Whistle Blowers . Am quite confident Cotch & his band of Tigers can overcome those issues as they are Grand Final mentally tough.

If we were at our blazing best I think we'd be pronounced favourites, but the fact we're still building up to a peak while Geelong is already at theirs makes it close. The market is about right. It's a very good Geelong team, they've taken no chances with weak links except maybe O'Connor. Fingers crossed we do ourselves justice and the result looks after itself.

Like some other posters, I've avoided most of the media this week.
Today will be a long day. I'm taking myself off to a Caravan & Camping show for a few hours. Just need to distract myself.

That said, I feel a bit calmer today. Not sure what I'll be like by game time though

I hope all of the Tiger fans going along have a great night. Grand Finals are so special to be a part of. Obviously this year is very different, but as long as we win, it will be remembered as a very special year in Tiger history. I reckon Dimma and Emma will have Cothch and the boys primed for this and we will get the job done. Go you mighty Tiges!
Ps - the night Grand Final timeslot makes for a VERY long day!

I was a touch harsh on queenslanders before.

It was just the bitter hipsters in westend eshewing proper culture.

After a few bloody marias, queensland more broadly is a much nicer place.

Ive had plenty of unsolicited, enthusiastic 'go tiges'.

Even a few streamers and balloons in queen st.

I feel like brisbane is behind us.

To our melbourne brothers and sisters, i am thinking of you and giving everything ive got on your behalf.
Surely G'long is just a local quirk?

Would qlndrs even know what it is?
