Grand Final 2020 Thread Richmond Vs Geelong / Game Day Thread

Typical Geelong commemorating a bloke that spent half his football career at another club.
I can't see any difference to what Ablett did to what Cloke did.

Going to be a LONG LONG day.

Bloody oath - feeling it already and even in 12 hours time it’ll only be half time
Numb feeling at present - gonna be a slog of a day especially with the rain in Vic
Trying to soak up the positive vibes of the more positive PREders but I’m still nervous
Putting aside all the newspaper articles till after the game with the hope I’ll be devouring them tomorrow and in the days and weeks ahead
Good luck all

Good morning PRE and happy GF day... so the day has arrived and I couldn’t be prouder the club.

Reading all your comments I feel comforted - whilst my sensible self says whatever the result I will still admire what they have achieved, but in reality my heart knows only a win will do.

I’ve avoided the media and most channels other than the RFC website for inspiring videos and news. I can’t avoid it all, with Brownless popping up on every channel possible but let them talk it up. If anyone has any video skills and we do prevail tonight, could they re-do the Cats v Tiges Bupa parody please.

I’ll be here on PRE tonight, be kind to each other, hope our team make us proud and maybe, just maybe, we all feel that jubilation we have become accustomed to these past few years.

Go Tiges!

PS. Did the lawns yesterday, time to do some painting to pass the time.

To those lucky enough to be at the game tonight, make us proud and be *smile* loud.

Been pretty calm all week but woke up this morning at 4am nervous, jumpy and overly emotional. Not sure how i'll survive the day.

Eat em alive boys.

Like some other posters, I've avoided most of the media this week.
Today will be a long day. I'm taking myself off to a Caravan & Camping show for a few hours. Just need to distract myself.

That said, I feel a bit calmer today. Not sure what I'll be like by game time though
Am doing the same, inspecting caravans as a distraction, in Mildura
Go Tigers

Have visualised Couch and Dimma on the dais holding the premiership cup aloft ... it's an image of beauty.
Believe in today, PRE people. Send the team your positive thoughts and vibes.
Richmond to win by eight points
Go Tigers, you good things.
Cement your place in the history books
Yellow and Black !!!!!

Pressure Pressure and tackling that's the key really high intensity for 4 qtrs.Get a good start and kick straight important.Win the centre clearances and contested ball or breake even.Delivery in 50 has to be accurate not bombing it in smalls need to do there job and terrorise cats back 6.Use our speed and run and carry to expose them also. No missed tackles, fumbles and stray hand balls skills need to be spot on and finely a even 22 contribution. :gotigers

Have woken up grateful that we are in another Grand Final and confident of the win.

Never forget that in 1992 Jason Dunstall individually kicked 29.11.185 against the Tiges in just two games of football. Whatever happens today - its better than living through that hell! :D

As many have said so lucky and proud to be a teeny tiny part of the RFC, the want to win is just like the 2017 GF , however it’s for so many different reasons .

Ill take nothing away from Geelong they have been a mighty club thanks to the like of Frank Costa and Brian Cook and we’ve probably learned valuable lessons of them along the way.

Win this today and this 4 year block gos into immortality for many reasons , for Peggy, Benny and all involved including the 100k members I hope the 22 men get the job done today .

Go Tiges

The key to me is for Richmond to bring its best - manic pressure (especially without the ball), no easy contests, break even at least on centre clearance & contested ball around the ground & surge forward at every opportunity. If we achieve that, we’ll be hard to beat. As in every one of these shorter games, a good start is important.

Can't believe the AFL still hasn't announced list sizes for next year. Grand Final Day and clubs STILL don't know what they are dealing with next year!
Astounding.

If I could borrow Warnies script writer for the day I’d say Geelong to get out to a 4 goal lead by qrt time , a 7 goal lead by HT. Geelong and their supporters dreaming of a beautiful GF victory. Then by 3/4 T the Tigers have whittled it back to a 4 goal deficit. Then in the last Q the Tigers cut the deficit to down to 5 points with 10 seconds to play, Selwood gives away a free to Lynch who did a “Selwood” by dropping the knees to earn an over the shoulder free kick. Tom from 75m out goes the torp and the ball goes over the pack for a goal. The goal umpire soft calls a goal but wants to check that it wasn’t touched. Replays are inconclusive, might’ve been touched by a finger but it’s cleared as a goal! Tigers by a point. I think that’d be a result Geelong and their fans are worthy of.
