Grand Final 2020 Thread Richmond Vs Geelong / Game Day Thread

I have an un-nerving sense of calm about Saturday. I really think we'll win.

But then I see or hear or read about those deserving Cats (they're impossible to avoid), and I feel sick at the thought that losing to them is also a real possibility.

I'm going to sit in my shed with no power on until it's all over.
With some beers on ice?

*smile* I'm starting to get nervous. No work getting done today.

Feel so privileged to see the game tomorrow. I haven't seen us lose a game live since 2016. That includes all wins in Qld this year, QF last year, 2017 GF. I reckon my winning streak is 15 or more.

Wouldnt the footy gods be *smile*, following that run after 37 years of misery, to break my run when the GF is in my backyard?
Go Brissie.
Our ‘good luck charm’.

Hope so.
Enjoy.

IF we WIN I may drive into Tiger heartland and just ‘root my horn ‘ loudly with my scarf, flag out of my car... IF.
I've heard about people like you.

If you must, I'd suggest that you use lots of lubricant :rotfl1

i would be surprised if its not greasy even if there is no rain , around game time .

79 percent chance of rain in the two hours leading into the game with 79 per cent humidity

Just doesn’t feel like GF week to me.
Understand your feeling TT, so I decided to turn it around...

Grabbed my oldest son, and headed to Punt Rd....
Stood outside the Superstore and looked into the ground, no one in sight, store closed, gates locked.... closed our eyes and imagined the open training session, opened our eyes and suddenly people were walking past fully decked out in Tiger gear.
There was a hand written note to the team attached to the fence that was just beautiful.....
Walked up to the members entrance to the G, and imagined how packed it would be due to the GF parade....then walked over to where the stage would have normally been, and once again closed our eyes and thought of images from 17 and 19. Opened our eyes and realised that there were many people around, having brunch, families with kids kicking footies, and people like us, just soaking it up......almost ALL were decked out in Tiger attire.......
Went back to the car, drove down Bridge Rd ..shops with Tiger posters, cafes selling coffee with balloons with people waiting in the street....all in Tiger colours.....
Drove down Lennox St.....The mighty London Tavern.....open!....selling from a side window, coffee, toasties etc.....decked out in Tiger stuff. News reporters were there interviewing the owner, taking shots of the pub etc... (Should be on Ch7 news tonight)....Did something that I’ve never done before...ordered a coffee from the London....this truly is a different year...
Continued up Swan St....many people in yellow and black, many shops decorated in Tiger theme, the shops that were open had people out the front in Tiger stuff .....many houses in the backstreets have streamers, flags, balloons, and posters....

The vibe was returning.....its been different this year as we all know.....but there was a sense of extreme support and passion just brewing below the surface.......building, bubbling.....

Forget Ablett, forget Dangerfield, forget the Geelong love......there is a force growing in strength and size...we have been locked down, but we have not been locked out!
Those few hours spent in Tigerland this morning have re ignited the missing aura of the GF build up...I’m now right back on track..am becoming absorbed in what will be arguably the greatest GF victory of all time!!

Go the MigntyTigers!!

I was a touch harsh on queenslanders before.

It was just the bitter hipsters in westend eshewing proper culture.

After a few bloody marias, queensland more broadly is a much nicer place.

Ive had plenty of unsolicited, enthusiastic 'go tiges'.

Even a few streamers and balloons in queen st.

I feel like brisbane is behind us.

To our melbourne brothers and sisters, i am thinking of you and giving everything ive got on your behalf.
